I've been back into learning French for a few days now, seeing as I'm going there in thirteen days. Thanks to Igor for sending me the complete Pimsleur stuff .

Anyone else still battling on with their resolutions?

Got a good new job (pays a third more than my last one :shifty: ) but I don't see getting a cat happening any time soon due to how I rent.

Working on social life, but it's pretty hard.

Dangerblade needs to return if only to update the first post. I want some golden text under my name:

Zenigame
- Get degree
- Sort out life; do more worthwhile things
- Spend less time sleeping
- Stop being so poor

Degree GET! Probably dont deserve it due to how little work I actually did. Or how I was rarely there. But I have a piece of paper that says I have a degree. In a subject I don't even care about. But it's still a Resolution GET!

As for the other ones. Well.. my life is still gooseberry fool. Shitter than usual even. I'm still sleeping far too much and am even poorer than before (i.e in more debt). Awesome.

- Work hard at university - Got a 2:1 last year and without really doing much so I'm going to do the recommended work hours next semester and try and get a high 2:1/1st
- Be more sociable; get more friends - Been out a couple of times here with my sister and her bf but there's not really anyone in the country so pretty hard to do
- Get a girlfriend -
- Get a job - Going to look in to graduate jobs after uni to see what I need to do in my final year and when I get back I'm going to try and find a part time job
- Save enough money to see some World Cup games and visit friends - Done
- Get fit/lose weight - Joined the gym here for two months and I can definitely see some improvement and going to try and continue it when I go back to uni

Not too bad but the 2nd,3rd and 4th ones will improve when I get back to uni.

- Rejoin gym; train properly for Great North Run
None. Absolutely zilch.
- Move out
Done, and to be done again very soon. With a possible stop at home for a couple of weeks.
- Save up for car/wedding
Not done at all, but I have contact numbers to arrange overtime and should be in better arrangements by next year.
- Pass driving test
Again, not done at all. Still no provisional.
- Sort out finances
Hurrah! I'm actually getting somewhere on this. I'm spending a lot less money on useless things, I'm not totally skint by the end of the month and my bills are being paid. I should be completely free of student debts by new year.

- Get driving license before March
- Get a full-time job
- Move into own place

Well I tried and failed my driving test a few times before passing in July.
Got a more stable job, which is what I wanted, not full time but good enough.
Still no progress on moving out.

My one resolution turned out to be an impossibility, as the army won't have me back.

Still, I've lost weight and I'm less of a banana split now, so maybe that stands for something.

For me

-Learn how to cook

Yes it's going very well, I normally stick to a few staples but I do try new things now and again. I picked up some turkey breast last night and will have to figure out what to do with it tonight.

-Get back into weightlifting

Well it was going alright for a bit but then I started slacking again. :(

2013. I'll be 29 by then. I don't think I'll be able to face basic training again at that age.

EDIT: Also, the world will have ended.

Oooh, well if we're doing this:

- Get fit enough to do a half marathon in 2 hours by using the gym and going for runs along the local canal
Fail, I have been training through the year, but I had to stop for a long time as my asthma resurfaced worse than ever and I'm having to pull out of the Great North Run I signed up for on doctor's advice.

- Finish third year with at least 2:1 level grades
strawberry float yeah. 8-)

- Be more confident
strawberry float no.

- Change style; wear better clothes
I'm certainly looking better style wise than ever before, I wear shirts and trousers that aren't baggy as strawberry float or ripped at the bottom most days. I still doss about when I'm hanging around the house though.

- Become more prudent; stop spending a lot of money on a lot of nothing
Epic, epic, massive fail. I'm in £1000 more debt than I was when I made this post.

- Make friends with people at university
I never targeted this one to start doing until I start next year, so we will see.

- Begin and complete applications for postgraduate courses both in the UK and abroad
See above.

Zenigame wrote:Get degree

Err... nae luck with the other 3 points yet though. Next year. :shifty:

1 out of 4 ain't bad.
