Well there's my resolution broken :fp: I'm supposed to be working on something but I decided to "quickly" go on last.fm as I haven't used the site in ages, and I've been there for hours now.

Damn. Well in some, uh, cultures it's still 2009, right? :shifty:

And I'm here now cause I'm taking a break.

Looks like Turok needs some help with limiting being-on-the-Internet-and-doing-fuck-all usage.

Get a routine at around midnight that involves turning the PC off. Turn it off then tidy up, or turn it off and read a book. Anything, as long as it means you are physically unable to browse the Internet, short of actually turning it back on...but GRCade believes you have the willpower to do this. If we really need to get extreme, is there any way you can disable your connection from 12am, or is this not logistical?

2. Get a part-time job if possible
3. At least make an effort to improve my social life
4. Watch enough film/tv/listen to enough music to justify my position as a pretentious ******

Hello, William.

Please recognise and understand that words such as "probably" and "try" in regards to new year's resolutions are a bad idea; it creates a negative frame of mind. You can do more exercise, and eat more healthily, and you will.

That's fine, because GRCade believes you will get rich.

I want to learn to cook more, and make my own meals so I can hopefully get better results from weight lifting, which I will have to get back into.

- Become fit enough to do a half marathon in 2 hours by using the gym and going for runs along the local canal.
- Finish third year with at least 2:1 level grades
- Become a more confident person
- Change style, wear better clothes
- Become more prudent, stop spending a lot of money on a lot of nothing
- Make a couple of friends on my course. I have plenty of friends where I live and where I work, but none from Uni weirdly.
- Begin and complete applications for postgraduate courses both in the UK and abroad.

Yeah, I'll turn it off early this evening.

I think last night (and the few nights before that) was just because I haven't had my own PC in months before I got this new running properly last week, and at the same time I was procrastinating this writing job I have to do (which I still haven't done, dammit), so it was a bit of a backlash moment (you know, like Randy in that episode of South Park where they're on a refugee camp and he needs internet access at all cost, except replace the porn with five hour long random browsing sessions  ). It won't happen anymore, though, at least not tonight since after going to bed at 4.30AM last night I got up at 10 this morning.

I can do it!

Right here's mine,

- Continue on my Diet, some may recall I started a diet way back late october/november, and since then I have lost about 20lbs, although I still have a megaton more to shift, I realise it's not a new resolution, but I need to keep on track as temptation is around every corner!
- Join a gym, this will be in the spring/summer time, as right now I am not ready to join the gym and it'll be strawberry floating packed with the xmas noobs!
- Get a better job, the current job I have is utter dogshit, with no decent chance of promotion in this small company, for now I just use it to get me in a routine of waking up early, like they use me for slave labour!
- Read more, to my shame I probabily haven't read a book for many a year, and I think because of this my brain is getting a bit sloppy, for example I will be talking to someone and I'll completely forget what the next word is I am trying to say, and this is getting more and more frequent. Perhaps this will help with my memory problem as well, for those who don't know I have a really bad memory, unless something is important i'll forget it in a matter of minutes.

My overall aim for the year though is to be wearing L sized clothes by the end of 2010 (Currently on 3xl to my shame)

Hmmmm, I've been thinking about these for a while and I do intend on sticking to them...especially No.1

1. Put on a bit of weight - I don't want to be a pure muscle man but I am quite slim and would just feel a bit more confident if I had a bit more weight to me. Trust me, like those trying to lose weight, it's not as easy as you'd think.

2. Learn to drive - I am 25 and I do not have a driving licence. I hate telling folk I can't drive, I always think it's quite embarrasing for someone my age Hehe I've had leassons before so hopefully I will remember some. I don't intend to start that until a bit later in the year though, maybe June/July time when it's a bit lighter in the evenings after work.

3. Spend less time online - I spend a silly amount if time on various social networking sites and chat rooms etc. I have done well so far and deleted all online profile apart from Facebook and this. Got to at least keep something to keep me amused when there is nothing else to do. I think with my new times I will expand my book reading, already made good progress on this.

4. Drink less - I don't drink loads but I just hate the way I feel after a night out both physically and financially lol I should learn to say no to going into town and just be content with going home after a few drinks at the pub.

There, that's mine. The drink one only came to be as I was tryping this feeling slightly fragile meh...

1. Achieve a 1st in my degree.

Really need to get a move on with my final year project, all other courseworks have gone well except the big one.

2. Loose some of that stomach, perhaps put on some muscle in the process (may post before and then after pics :P)

My mum bought a blender recently, so I have been experimenting with smoothies, had a very bitter one this morning (pinapple + Strawberrys + Plain low fat yogurt). Decided im going to eat normally during tea, but breakfast and lunch are going to be low fat or small portions. Going to also go on runs (live down a country road which is all right for running) and use my weights how my sister, who is a P.E teacher, is going to teach me.

One of last years resolutions was to not get into as much trouble when drunk (broke my nose and wrist year before...on separate nights out). I would like to report that I have cut down on drinking a lot, mainly due to my girlfriend and a lot of my mates getting there a Girlfriend of there own so we all have less big nights out. I've done the odd stupid thing this year, but non no where near as bad as previous years. Its definately an on going resolution.

My other resolution was to get a girlfriend and I have achieved that with flying colours...all by drunk luck mind...but hey.

1. Gain a stone (March)

I am a pretty skinny fuker and need to fill out before I hit Spain in Easter. This is going to be a damn hard thing to do before March but I am going to give it a go.

2. Get myself a girlfriend ... at least get back out dating (December)

I have been out the game in terms of a proper relationship for three years now after a absolutely heartbreaking split from the first girl I ever loved (fukin hell get the guitars out!!). After this harsh experience I haven't ever trusted myself to feel as strongly about someone like that since and I spent most my entire 3 years at uni playing the field. By the end of the year I want a girlfriend or the very least be back in the 'mating game'.

3. Get a promotion at work (December)

To be honest I doubt I will achieve this but it is better to aim high than not at all. I lack experience for the job I am in currently let alone in a management role in the same company (way too young!!). Aim for stars!

4. Expand my website to bigger and better things (December)

I feel this is a bigger year for ChocolateMission. I honestly believe the site is a potential goal mine - I hope I can provide some evidence at the end of the year to prove this is the case.

I shall say that reading a bit more is one I can share with a couple of others, too. 'Tis probably good to have a couple of resolutions rather than just one. Keep myself busy!

Made a little headway with both my resolutions, then: revised a little since the 1st, not as much as I should have, but better than nothing. Also read some Fermat's Last Theorem. (This thread is for progress updates as well, yeah? :) )

1. Try and get a job. I've been living the good uni life for too long now, I can't afford to take my gf out for dinner or buy her nice things as much as I did when I was working, which sucks. I have become waaaaay too lazy and comfortable living off my student loan so it's high time I got a job. Just 1 day a week, mind, I'm not crazy :shifty:

2. Get fitter. I play football once a week, but I'm still majorly unfit, despite looking like I am active. I need to do more cardiovascular exercise, without losing too much weight (I'm skin and bones as it is :fp: )

3. Spend less time online. Seriously, if I'm not on GRcade, I'm on cliphunter having a wank 8-)

4. Be less of a knobhead. I'll admit I'm quite selfish and I can act like a bit of a spoilt brat when at home, I tend to always get my own way and I live an easy life, so I'm going to try and be less of a banana split and more open to other people's ideas (mainly my girlfriend, bless her  )

5. Use less smileys at the end of sentences. I seem to have done it throughout this post :fp: :P
