Just played the first couple of parts of the first episode. Love it already. You just can't beat the writing and plot twists in these games.

Is there any recommended order to play the extras in? Do any of the special scenes etc ruin anything in the story that comes later on etc?

Apparently there are spoilers so I'm saving them until I complete both games.

Ah, that's interesting to hear. I thought they might be interstitials between each case (looking at the summary of the very first one), and thought their impact might be lessened if you didn't watch them straight after the corresponding case.

He is pretty bad. Shamspeare does enough I think.

That said, I'm sure there must be other boring characters. Gavin Jr. springs to mind.

Slowly working my way through G1C5 and got stuck for the first time in the game. I figured it out in the end but annoyingly it was one of those classic Ace Attorney problems of figuring out a revelation before the game had expected me to and then having to try and work out what steps the game wanted me to take before making the reveal.

Other than that, I'm finding it really easy overall. I don't know if that's down to me or the game though. Either the cases are just easier to figure out or I've gotten better at spotting and linking clues since playing the original all those years ago.

I'm not complaining. I still absolutely love it just as much as the previous games in the series. I just remember having moments in the old games where I really had to scratch my head to work things out but I'm not getting that anymore.

The game really is one game, not two. There are some headscratchers towards the end of Resolve. That said the investigations are definitely a whole lot easier than they used to be.

Shy Guy: I wouldn't say 'ruined', since by that point you already have dubious Irish and cockney accents that should already have ruined it for you.

Well I am Scottish so this one really grates me. I don’t really I should take offence at things that are offensive to what I’m not

Though I won’t deny I could hear my Irish ancestors turning in their graves more than usual

Finished G1C3 (is that the syntax we are using?) last night. Enjoying it, but it certianly feels a lot easier than previous games.

I'm enjoying the jury system, even if it is only giving the illusion of pace and tension being added to proceedings. The fact it gives a few more exchanges between characters is only a good thing as far as i'm concerned.

I really hope that

a) there is another game in the AA franchise, and that
b) It really takes the series somewhere new with the mechanics. I know its a conservative series that has always bordered on VN territory, and thats fine and I love it for that, but it would be great if they added something that really made the series feel new again.

But yeah, having a good time with this so far. One particular statement in Chapter 3 from Mr Furst had me genuinely in stitches, largely because of the delivery of the second part of the anecdote, and the additional information that was delivered in a manner suggesting he had assumed everyone else was aware of the fact.
