On the topic of accents, an Irish friend of mine just met Magnus McGilded and she said she was impressed by them getting some of the Irish syntax right. She also said 'begorrah potatoes' which is I think less complimentary.

Just started playing Bravely Default II and I've already encountered the worst Scottish and Australian accents I've ever heard in a game.

Oooooooh, yeah, those are pretty grim. You can of course change to Japanese VA, but I ended up leaning into the campyness. 'Want tae see what I kin really do!?'

at least the accent didnt drop out mid sentence like in GAA

FINALLY finished the first game today. I did love it but it definitely had too much anime waffle for my liking. And by that I mean the dialogue could've done with fair fewer "in other words" round the houses moments.

For example, the final case, the Morse code was obvious from the moment you received the newspaper about government secrets being leaked. So it just annoyed me that when it finally looked like they were going for the reveal, there was another half an hour of dialogue before Narahodu finally figured it out.

Not only does it drag the game out needlessly, it makes the main character look like a strawberry floating idiot.

But other than that, I loved it!

I'm also really worried about my memory. I had to Google and read the plot for the second case as I'd completely forgotten how the victim had died and who was responsible.

I better crack on with the second game before my mind wipes my memory completely!
