I’ve only once parked in a disabled space. It was right next to the click and collect locker I was there to use. There were 20 other disabled spaces, all empty, half of which were closer to the supermarket entrance. It was pouring with rain. I was on my way to work. I was there for literally 30 seconds.

Yes, it was still wrong of me, but I felt zero guilt. Just a little discomfort that I might get challenged by the sort of person who has a heart attack over a stranger not wearing a poppy.

You going to fight me?

On one of those Channel 4 police interrogation programmes, there was an episode about some old guy who killed someone who thought they were wrongly using a disabled space. So yeah, use at your own risk.

You've voted now, you can't back out. You got what you voted for and that's democracy. :capnscotty:

The answer is don't drive. Problem solved.

Yeah I thought that too....

...until I got stuck in Horncastle because there were no more buses running through Coningsby. At 2pm on a Thursday afternoon.

I never ever parked in a parent child space before I became a parent, but I’ll often casually pull into a disabled space to load the boot if picking up my partner as long as there’s at least, say, 4 of them and, crucially, not a single one is occupied in the whole set.

Basically as long as I’m unlikely to have to move or get a disapproving look by someone returning to their car.
