I managed to graduate with a first in Molecular and Cellular Biology MSci (Hons) from The University of Glasgow in 2020.

I'm now 6 months in to a PhD at The University of Strathclyde and all is going well so far.

Congrats! I've known a few people who have worked in the different science departments at Strathclyde, they all have good things to say about the new facilities.

Weirdly enough I recently went the other way, took a lecturing post at UoG in January after having worked and studied exclusively at Strathy since 2007.

I got my final results back for my second year. Just scraped into 1st territory which sets me up nicely for my dissertation year after I get back from Hong Kong. Very pleased with that :toot:

Congratulations mate, very strong achievement!

Got a bit of good academic news myself there, had my contract officially extended until next July to teach intelligence studies alongside my usual history work. Very excited.

Thanks! It was a nice boost of confidence for me.

Congratulations on the contact extension! How do you find working in academia? It's a long way off yet (I'm still just an undergrad student) but I'm tentatively considering whether or not to pursue it as a career. My age is my main (self-imposed) obstacle but tutors in my department seem to think I'd do well in post-grad and it's nice to have options.

A bit slow on this as I've not been around but huge congratulations on this, pal.

Congratulations to you too, Outrunner :-)
