It would be called "The Academia Folder," and you need to upload proof of your doctorate to get in.

Pfft only real doctors get their own folder. If you can’t successfully transplant human organs, then you don’t get your own folder.

Congrats Dr Mini E!

See, I don't remember what I have and haven't shared on this forum and it frightens me a little bit sometimes when people know things I don't remember telling them. :slol:

Clearly someone forgot to post this on the forum before deadline day, all your information is free to be exploited by GRcade now!

Hi everyone! Don’t forget today starts the new GRcade rule where they can use your photo Don't forget Deadline tomorrow !!! Everything you've ever posted becomes public from tomorrow. Even messages that have been deleted or the photos not allowed. It costs nothing for a simple copy and paste, better safe than sorry. Channel 9 News talked about the change in GRcade's privacy policy. I do not give GRcade or any entities associated with GRcade permission to use my pictures, information, messages or posts, both past and future. With this statement, I give notice to GRcade it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, or take any other action against me based on this profile and/or its contents. The content of this profile is private and confidential information. The violation of privacy can be punished by law (UCC 1-308- 1 1 308-103 and the Rome Statute). NOTE: GRcade is now a public entity. All members must post a note like this. If you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. If you do not publish a statement at least once it will be tacitly allowing the use of your photos, as well as the information contained in the profile status updates. DO NOT SHARE. Copy and paste.Wondered why GRcade was so boring!
This is good to know: It's ridiculous to have lots of friends and only 25 are allowed to see my post.
I ignored this post earlier, but It WORKS!! I have a whole new news feed. I’m seeing posts from people I haven’t seen in years.
Here’s how to bypass the system GRcade now has in place that limits posts on your news feed.
Their new algorithm chooses the same few people - about 25 - who will read your posts. Therefore,
Hold your finger down anywhere in this post and "copy" will pop up. Click "copy". Then go your page, start a new post and put your finger anywhere in the blank field. "Paste" will pop up and click paste.
This will bypass the system.
DONE! Stop it GRcade

If you were less jealous of your brother being a real doctor then we wouldn’t know.

Corazon de Leon wrote:Actually I am - it’s a common misconception that medical doctors actually have doctoral degrees, they don’t. I do. As I constantly remind my brother, the “real” doctor. :datass:

Edit: that reply was too quick. Now the people will know that I have been triggered. :slol: :dread:

I have completed another chapter of my thesis.

Just the actual analysis and conclusions left to go.

I need to get those done in about... one week, two weeks tops. :slol:

I'll be fine right guys? :dread:

I think you will be fine as long as you already know what you want to say and have your references in a folder somewhere. When your back's against the wall you can write a lot of words in a week.

You probably shouldn't be wasting time on GRcade though :slol:

If you're not doing a couple of 18-20 hour working days towards the end, you've been working too hard beforehand. Good luck!

Chaps - any tips/help with changing my writing style from journal article to undergraduate book chapter? I'm not really sure how to make the transition...

Sorry mate, I've got absolutely strawberry float all for you there.

You're much further forward than me in most respects to be fair - I'm still fighting for a contract somewhere, at the point of applying to such luminaries as the University of the Highlands and Islands for temporary contracts. My CV must look like utter gooseberry fool compared to some folks'. Hoping that my book proposal gets picked up but it's been in peer review for over two months, which can't be a good sign.

I keep getting knocked back for job interviews for part time lecturer roles and I’m not sure how long to give it before considering careers outside of academia. Not enough experience, but how the strawberry float do I get the experience when nobody will chance their arm on taking me on?

I just think that it’d be a terrible thing, leaving behind the only career I’ve ever seriously considered, and wouldn’t even know where to start looking for something else.
