WILSHIRE also made me think I was listening to a podcast
(still loved it)
Gonna second WILSHIRE being quality.
In terms of DJ Drama, I suppose it's that Tyler wanted a Gangsta Grillz tape and then somehow made it happen. I think nostalgia is a common theme here and DJ Drama plays into that, but the nostalgia is used to show Tyler's stylistic evolution and so DJ Drama is then turned instead into more of a narrator that almost provides a narrative throughline linking everything together.
Honestly I could probably have a little bit less of him on the album, but that's the style Tyler was aiming for and reminds me of the Dedication tapes and some other gooseberry fool in a good way.
