Really enjoyed it overall!

There was talk of the movie containing spoilers for where the manga is at compared to the anime, but they must've been seriously minor because they either went over my head or just blended in as 'movie only' stuff. I certainly didn't walk away feeling like anything had been spoiled for me.

One HUGE improvement over the first film was that all of Class 1-A actually got to do something and play a significant part this time (Well, except Hagakure who is invisible in more ways than one and just flat out may as well not even be there most of the time). It was great seeing pretty much everyone get a chance to shine, whilst the first film had a bunch of the class not even in it and then some only in cameo appearances whilst completely missing all the action.

I was almost pissed off with the whole thing about One for All being passed to Bakugo, I had to remind myself that since this was a non-canon movie it'd just get undone by the end, and I was nearly pissed off at the initial assumption that it was just something like Bakugo passing out before the transfer was complete, but I ended up being satisfied with the explanation that One for All itself had more or less made a conscious decision to revert back to Izuku

Well timeline wise the movie is set ahead of where the anime is and more in line with where the manga currently is.

It wasnt though. Some bits that happened there don't happen until way after it's supposed to be set. Shiragaki doesn't have his hand for instance after the Liberation Army arc where Twice learns to make doubles of people. It's not a huge deal as it was lots of fun!

I just googled Brock jelly doughnuts.

God forbid children might learn about foreign foods :fp: Though it could have been worse as I was expecting it to be about his nads.

I don't think Brook would want her to eat his nads, or that he made them.

Read through Beastars the past couple of days after a few people were pushing it. It was OK, but I don't know if the pacing in the anime is very different to the manga since pretty much everyone sold it as a romance series. While that's mainly the motivation of the main character rather than the primary plot line. It's more about Legosi trying to find out where he fits into this society they've built and the effect black markets have in a community where carnivores are forbidden from eating meat.

Overall it's extremely dumb and has jumped the shark like 5 times. Once literally.

At least the characters are endearing and once the author gets into her comfort zone the art gets pretty decent.

Just in case someone is yet to spot it, the first two seasons of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is on UK Netflix.

I watched it on the American Netflix a little while ago. It can take a little while to click, but once it gets going I really enjoyed it.

+1

It took a while for me to acclimatise to it too thanks to the contrast between seeing all the bright and vibrant character art (even the name and logo of the anime/manga!) and and then seeing the opening eps and the grounded world it's set in. But one of the things that helped to keep me watching was the Japanese audio track. Specifically the names and the way in which some of them are pronounced...

Jonnasan Joestar

Baron Zeppeli

Robert E. O. Speedwagon  Speedwagon is essentially the exposition master and his earnest overreactions to everything kept me hooked.

...Tonpetty

One of the other things which made it a pain to get into it when streaming it via... other means, is that the picture quality was naff. Thankfully the Netflix eps are all in HD.

Still reading that opening 3 volume One Piece compilation. Is there any significance to chapter 12? (Just after Zolo escapes with Lufi in the cage.) I ask because up to that point there'd been no shading used – skin tones were the same colour as the paper. But the opening of 12 (someone on a lion) looks markedly different and better. So I flipped through the rest of the book hoping the style remained the same, only to see it go back to the no shading style. So yeah, any reason behind that change?
