Got tickets to see the third My Hero Academia film at the cinema on Friday.

The last ever thing I saw in a cinema was the second MHA film

Wait what!? Do we know how long?

I'm on episode 120-odd, and somewhere in the last 70 episodes or so I finally got into Black Clover. I still think it's ham-fisted at times, and it needs to tune down the fanservice towards 15-year-old girls (Jesus Christ Fana 2.0 :fp: ), and every time Henry or Charmy open their mouths I want to hit mute... but the art's got better, Asta's more bearable, Yami is a good dad as is Klaus, the sodding elves have mostly gone, and they're finally dealing with the two mostly absent kingdoms. Also Gordon can talk now which is nice.

So yep, into it, and was looking forqard to blazing through to the end. But apparently there's no end to blaze through to? :(

Apparently they don't want a situation where they catch up to the manga and then have to do filler eps. Taking a break allows more "proper" stories to be created for the anime to be based on. That's a fair enough reason, I guess.

Absolutely justified - I've heard the filler arcs in e.g. Bleach are pretty egregious. Still rubbish for Balla having to wait though.

Honestly, given the choice between an 10 month break in the anime or watching the Bount arc every week for those 10 months, I'd choose the break every time.

One Piece can't be the only anime with more good quality filler than bad...

Doing filler that's any good is almost impossible. That One Piece has accomplished it on a few occasions is the exception that proves the rule.

Filler arcs in Bleach were beyond terrible. Naruto filler was never ending and awful.

The best solution is to do seasons with breaks but Japanese anime producers seem to loathe the idea. 2 weekly manga chapters becoming one 20 minute episode almost always ensures great pacing and would broadly allow 20-23 episodes a year. And anime adaptions should generally only start at least 2 years after the 1st weekly manga chapter has been produced.

I had to stop watching One Piece because they switched from doing actual genuine filler which I could ignore to instead just draw out the canon to Dragonball Z levels of slowness. Episodes had barely 1 chapter of content but stretched to fill out 20 minutes. Better off waiting for fans doing "One Pace" to fix it but that's not exactly an ideal solution.

The filler arcs in Naruto and Bleach are a special tier of shite. Those 90 episodes before Naruto Shippuden and 'we interrupt this pivotal moment in an arc for 24 episodes of unrelated bullshit' in Bleach were painful to endure and were enough to make me go manga only from then on. :dread:

Dandadan 29: 'ight. Wasn't sure about Jin at first. However, his goofball performance at the start of 29 has won me over.

For now. (I'm still reading 29.)

I still don't like him, but the way they did the golden ball reveal was great.

Oh no. I feared that having not even yet even seen 500 eps of the anime that there was plenty of time for it to head in a direction I didn't like. But that's okay while I have 500+ eps to go, as I've not been afraid to skip filler I didn't like. (Seriously, Foxy can strawberry float off.) I hope by the time I catch up to it they get back on track with good filler... (Like, I know there haven't been any more of the Boss Luffy filler. Loved those.)

I wonder if it's intentional that the higher up ranks in One Piece navy all dress like yakuza under their navy overcoats...

One Piece 463: I love how after causing the tsunami, Whitebeard hasn't needed to move despite getting devastating attacks sent his way :datass: Does a great job of showing how powerful his division commanders are. Utterly dreading Akainu coming into the fray though

Finished the Mobile Suit Gundam films again after watching Origin, now onto the next in the chronology, (well technically at the same time during the One Year War) 08th MS Team. Only watched the first episode but its VERY 1990s.

Every single show in the UC strawberry floating rocks. 08th Team and Pocket War are two of my favourites. Enjoy!

Though I didn't get very far into it, I found the manga too dry. Maybe the anime will be more my cup of tea.
