Amazing episode of Kaguya this week - musical references galore.

Gone all-out on another special ending too.

Golden Kamuy - Chapter 27: Ah man! I've been sat here worried sick for the past few chapters and then some. The tension was awful but written and plotted really well, and the start of the climax was worth it as well. I'm too jittery to start the next chapter right away though

Top notch end to the arc mentioned above. *Slightly* marred by mawkishness, but it was still fantastic.

Laga gonna be hyped, I think...

Dandadan 56 - Turbo Granny training time.

This series is going to be such a massive hit when it gets an anime.

woop! Looking forward to reading that tonight. (I'm getting a bit sick of Jiji's spirit acting out over and over again, but then I find the child spirit the most relatable one and so am looking forward to how its plight is resolved.)

Yeah, I want that little kid to have something good with the main crew after all those years of suffering.

Who was it on here who was excited for Spy X Family? Because I just watched the first episode and I love it. Anya is already a contender for my favourite anime kid.

Anya is easily my favourite part!

Somewhat related, I've been watching March Comes In Like a Lion as it's leaving Netflix at the end of the month, and Momo bears a very striking resemblance to Anya. I love her.

Spy x Family took 6 episodes but we finally got to see Anya pull off the most gloriously smug grin for the first time.

Just looking at that now, think I'll be watching it as it looks like my kind of anime.

Also, a couple of reviews compare it with Fullmetal Alchemist.

Golden Kamuy? I'm reading the manga and FmA did not spring to my mind. But the anime should totally be worth checking out because the manga is excellent. Great mix of humour and action.

EDIT: Thinking about it, there is a conspiratorial element to the story what with two of the factions looking to take over parts of Japan. (I must have forgotten about that bc I'm only really reading it for the interactions between Asirpa and Sugimoto.)

Sugimoto feigning and Asirpa not realising: "Oh no. We can't eat the brains??? Oh no." :( :( :(

EDIT 2: OMFG I just realised that one of the Uniqlo UT manga tees I passed on (this was ages ago) was Asirpa pulling a face design! Her faces are the best thing ffs.

Golden Kamuy, Chapter 44 - Story has shifted focus to someone who can barely be called a supporting character. But his part in the story is now centre stage and it's heart pounding stuff. It's so good! More fool me for not checking this out sooner!

I'm watching the anime of it atm, 3 episodes in and I'm really enjoying it.

Asirpa is definitely the best character, like all the Ainu cultural stuff too, its quite interesting to hear about (assuming its accurate).

Yay.

In one of the earlier chapters there was a HUGE list of reference material the creators used, so I am assuming the Ainu cultural accuracy is high.

Asirpa's a great mix of scamp, cutie and badass.
