Just finished March Comes In Like A Lion. Lovely little slice-of-life anime. Great characters. One of my all-time faves. Loved it.

Now, what's next? I made a start a Haikyuu! but honestly didn't get through the first episode, it was so screamingly awkward.

Awkward how? Not gonna convince you to watch it if you didn't enjoy it, but the opening episodes just sets up the stories of the two main characters - it moves on a bit after they settle in to the new team.

But if you're that stuck for what to watch next... I'd say stick with Haikyuu :P

Not sure I get the quoted image but okay! (I will give Golden Kamuy's anime a shot at some point.)

The bit where standard-issue shonen protagonist no. 17 says enthusiastically that he and his misfits are going to win, in a hall filled with enormous people, with him going up against the favourites in the first round... I didn't get much beyond that, but it made my toes curl.

You will.

You should've kept watching because he gets a good dose of reality very, very quickly after that. Believe it or not, he becomes quite likeable. (But then I didn't find him awkward so YMMV!) But he never loses than enthusiasm and self-belief, so if that's an issue for you it may not be for you.

Er, just to be clear, that pic isn't what I think of your post, it's just humorous shorthand of what you think of Haikyuu.

(I didn't want you watching Golden Kamuy and thinking I thought your post was rubbish!)

Double episode of Kaguya for the season finale and what a finale it was! Really cemented it's place as the best rom-com in decades. :datass:

Re-started on Ranking of Kings yesterday. How could *anyone* be mean to Boji?! It's just too unbelievable.

I'm also re-watching Haikyu!! and just remembered something else I loved about the show: the supporting characters in the main team (namely the 2nd and 3rd-years and adults), the characters in the opposing teams and I think my all-time favourite moment is when the spotlight is given to teams who've given their time to the game but come up short. It's a beautifully planned and acted few moments. Really touching.

No! No! No! Just skip through that gooseberry fool until it gets back on track or you tune into an ep you like; don't let some other strawberry floater tell you what to watch. Some of those early "filler" eps are strawberry floating brilliant.

Sorry man, it's just too much for me. I'll stick with the canon.

I've got another 800 episodes to go, I'd like to finish it before retirement! :slol:

Fox eps are crap. No doubt. But the New Year eps, and the navy island and a couple others are a legit enjoyable watch for someone enjoying One Piece.

Only 3 chapters so far but I'm really enjoying the low stakes relaxed nature of Ruri Dragon. Earthchild is a must read for all the wrong reasons, you can literally see every time the editor has pushed the author to change things and it is such a messy clusterfuck as a result - it never should have been serialised in WSJ.

Komi can't communicate ep14

Was it really necessary to have Yamai attempt upskirting Komi, seems at odds with the tone of the rest (mostly) of the anime. They made up for the creepyness with the cat cafe bit though

Not clicking on that, I'll get to it in due time!

I'm now a decent distance into Haikyu! As a bad loser myself I found those first couple of episodes kind of unbearable, but I'm midway through S1 and enjoying it now! So, the question that springs to mind is: what order do I watch these things in!? As well as S1-3, Crunchyroll has 'Movies', 'Land vs. Air', 'To The Top' which looks like it might be S4, and 'OADs'. Which of these are required watching for the main story? Thanks in advance boss!
