End of Punk Hazard arc is so dope. Can't recall the last time I watched so many eps back-to-back.

Watched S2E6 of Demon Slayer last night.

Was it really necessary to give Nezuko's powered up form massive knockers? She's like 12, for Christ's sake. :dread:

One gripe I have with the anime is the insistence on increasing the breast size of many of the female characters. It was noticeable in a couple of shots last season but Daki, Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru have all had their breasts made a couple of sizes larger to the point that they are really hanging out of their outfits. Nezuko has the excuse that she is using size alteration to assume her awakened adult form after her Kimono was sliced at the waist by Daki's last attack but yeah.. after comparing the panels it seems Ufotable increased her bust whilst also slimming her waist a tad.

It's a 10/10 adaptation of the series aside from this annoying trend, which has to be said is rampant in a lot of anime.

See also Noelle in Black Clover and half the female characters in MHA

Also, a bit annoyed that its only available on Crunchyroll premium.

Started watching Ranking of Kings, on Crunchyroll. Check it out if you want something that isn't your usual anime fare. I'm only 2 eps in but it's about a young prince who's seemingly too weak to be king, and a shadow being who takes a liking to him. Best thing about it so far is that there's nuance in some of the characters you expect to behave a certain way.

This has put me off the series. Granted, I wasn't exactly on the series: felt it was pretty average, didn't like the other two slayers either. But I don't want this.

See also: Komi's at-the-pool episode. I swear they inflated Komi for the purposes of the episode. :fp:

It wasn't Komi's boobs that were ridiculous, it was Himiko's that were blatantly sized up for the episode.

Najimi too, they are normally depicted as having a gender ambiguous body shape but definitely had breasts in this episode

I wonder if it was supposed to be what the boys were perceiving the girls to look like in swimsuits rather than what they actually looked like (in a horny teenager kind of way).

That's something the animation team / mangaka would explain it away as, yes. The truth, unfortunately, is usually a lot more straightforward than that.

I've been watching Magic Knight Rayearth with a friend of mine recently and it's so good so far. Highly recommend.

But then again they aren't real so does it really matter?

The only anime that could reasonably get away with doing that are gurren lagann and evangelion
I thought Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san was a pretty bad offender for this. The side characters are accurate but nagatoro herself is pretty clearly inflated in the anime, but in the manga she's a borderline loli

So did anyone give Ranking of Kings a try? Is good, right? It's more Ghibli than Shonen Jump. With a dash of courtly politics. I'm in the middle of ep 3 and still enjoying it.

Still watching Blue Period and still enjoying it! I think it's more understated than average, and occasionally touches on some surprisingly well-observed stuff. Also it's about art which means I'm sold (though it sure can be ugly to look at itself!).

I'm also inexplicably very very excited about Belle's cinema release in a couple of weeks (I didn't even care for Wolf Children or TGWLTT that much!) - I'm trying to decide between Sub and Dub. Normally I'm a sub stalwart but the Dub in the trailers looks pretty good, especially the main singer who seems to have nailed it, which I think might add to the overall feel of the film...

Can't find many opinions online though!

Man I love it whenever Yuji Kaku gets a coloured page to flex his painting skills.

Blue Period was one of my favourite new manga of the last 5 years. I don't mind that the animation quality isn't the best as it's generally slow paced and not in need of much fluidity but the cut content and guest artwork by assistants/friends of the author not featuring as much as a result has soured me on the anime somewhat. I do need to catch up though as I still hear some good things about the adaptation.

I've been considering buying the manga, it sounds like there's enough extra stuff in it to compliment the story from the anime?

The thing with the manga is that it often goes into a lot more detail about the art, techniques and the processes Yatora discovers along his journey. There are entire chapters based around Yatora quietly observing the artwork and technique of others, considering ways to improve his own art and his newly discovered passion just oozes out of every page. It is this content which I found most moving but sadly it is also what had the most trimming for the anime.

Maybe check out a few of the chapters on MangaDex before buying any volumes but there is a decent chunk of extra content there to enjoy.

See, I though she might just be that shape, whereas Komi normally definitely isn't. That said, I've just hit the school sports day episode and there's an atrocious scene with her. I don't care if it's meant to be horny teenager-o-vision, it's still grotesque.

This has actually got me thinking about the anime as a whole. Thus far I've seen it as a cute depiction of friendship that okay, yes, is probably going to lead to romance, but otherwise it's all nice and fluffy. Now it's starting to feel more like the animator's wish fulfilment, having a beautiful girl at his beck and call who because of her social dysfunction is unable to go off with anybody else. :dread:
