I'm now a decent distance into Haikyu! As a bad loser myself I found those first couple of episodes kind of unbearable, but I'm midway through S1 and enjoying it now! So, the question that springs to mind is: what order do I watch these things in!? As well as S1-3, Crunchyroll has 'Movies', 'Land vs. Air', 'To The Top' which looks like it might be S4, and 'OADs'. Which of these are required watching for the main story? Thanks in advance boss!

:toot:

You're right about To The Top. OADs fleshes out stuff which happened during the seasons and (from what little I saw) looks to be totally new content wise. So I'll be watching those myself. Movies are season recaps with a little bit of new stuff.

Cheers! Looks like I can skip the films. Land vs. Air seems to be mostly side-stories, guess I'll see how desperate I am for more Haikyu by that point.

I always wonder just when it is that manga/whateva hooks me in if they don't hook me instantly. I think that with Chainsaw-man it's chapter 24.

I fell off on Diamond Is Unbreakable, having found Stardust Crusaders a bit eh but ploughed through anyway.

First episode of Golden Kamuy watched, no doubt to this thread's delight. Bit of a different energy from Haikyu.

I can't believe how much the anime covered in 10 eps going from what Ironhide said a while ago. I'll get around to the anime down the line.

Finished all the current episodes of Golden Kamuy the other day, the last few episodes were brilliant and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I do wonder if there's going to be a time jump of a few years to when Asirpa is a bit older as I did accidentally read something that mention her being "almost as tall as Sugimoto at 16" which at the moment she clearly isn't

Stardust Crusaders does drag on a little too much imo, and Diamond is Unbreakable is definitely a significant change in tone initially.

Golden Wind is probably my favorite arc though, its where the show hits peak weirdness in terms of Stand abilities and plot twists.

Less angst. More overt. More humour. 1000% more cream puffs.

Finished Haikyu S1...

I saw the loss in the last game coming a mile off (although went back and forward in the game itself)... I'm not sure how I feel about them spending, what, six episodes on the final battle of Season 1, only for it to be a loss! And to such a smug split as Oikawa as well. I know that bittersweet endings are all the rage these days, and of course there was good development in the match, but it just feels like a great bit sigh stretched across a quarter of a season. Oh well.

Totally get where you're coming from re that final match. It's a gut punch and then some. I've only ever watched it all the way through once; I largely skip it when rewatching, only bothering to watch the recap so I don't forget the flavour and texture of the episodes I didn't watch.

NON SPECIFIC SPOILERS FOR WHAT'S DUE IN S2 AND BEYOND:

Things will get a different kind of rough for the team, but it's well worth hanging around now that you put yourself through that last match of s1.

Yep definitely going to continue to watch, and it's not like there weren't good bits even in that section! (Kageyama  ) Just overall a bit of a 'harrumph' from me. Good to see you felt the same.
