Watched the first five episodes of Kakegurui this morning and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's so ridiculously anime.

A guilty pleasure of mine. I hope they get around to doing a third series.

The two endings to evangelion, the more I think im coming close to understand what the point of the entire series was the further away I get from actually understanding anything at all.

I assume the TV series is where instrumentality is achieved and even Shinji manages to accept himself ready to be reborn and the End is where instrumentality is achieved but as Shinji cannot accept himself as a person he leaves before rebirth to die alone with Asuka who I assume also can't do it either (or was protected by EVA02 so couldn't enter to begin with).

I think your interpretation of the last segment of EoE, One More Final: I need you, is incorrect. They are indeed the same ending, or at least different variations on the same idea. Shinji doesn't go off to die with Asuka, he goes off to live with Asuka because he's come to accept himself internally and in the context of other people.

Instrumentality is achieved in both but people like Asuka and Shinji who value their individuality reject it and so their souls do not enter the Gates of Guf to join the rest of humanity. Either way, Shinji accepts himself. Shinji and Asuka are paired off here because they both need each other to understand themselves, each being able to see themselves in the other person all without instrumentality.

I'd recommend watching the movies for First and the series for Zeta. The series for First is a little rough and very slow.

I finished reading the Marineford arc in One Piece in a day yesterday. I couldn't stop reading.

HOLY strawberry floating gooseberry fool it was one of the best arcs of anything I've ever read.

I'm super into real chill anime, one of my favourites is Barakamon. It's super feelgood, about a guy moving to a small town on an island to help him find meaning in his work and life again, and it's what I go to when I need a cheerup.

Dunno if it fits what you're looking for exactly, but if you haven't seen it I'd recommend K-On. It's pretty good slice of life if you can get over the fact that it's about a high school music club.

A couple of fantasy ones I remember being pretty chill are The Ancient Magus Bride and Somali of the Forest; the first one is a slice of life type show about celtic mythology motifs, and the latter is like the journey of a father and daughter through a fantasy world. Spice and Wolf is another one, more low fantasy, and it's about a travelling trader in a medieval setting.

I've yet to start it myself but I've had Tamako Market on my list of relaxing feelgood anime for a while now after this subject came up on Reddit.

If you're into manga Blue Period could be worth checking out. It's about a directionless young man finally discovering his passion in art and making the decision to apply for an art university. Less than 30 chapters so far but it makes for a very enjoyable read.

It's agony! But you just know chapter 1000 is going to be all kinds of epic.

I'm going to have to re-read the last few hundred chapters, reading weekly makes it harder to remember stuff that I read in chapters several years ago now.

Polar Bear's Cafe is a nice, gentle slice-of-life series about, well, a cafe run by a polar bear. Plenty of good-natured humour and cute talking animals.

1000th chapter of One Piece will be the highlight of 2020.

Weekly releases of One Piece has been one of the few normal things about 2020.

Also for any Berserk fans, chapter 362 came out recently. Plus I discovered this excellent channel:

I'd also strongly recommend the Overlord anime and light novels. I've enjoyed the LN so much I've re-read each volume twice.
