Diamond is Unbreakable done, wasn't enjoying it that much until the last 3rd of it where everything goes up a gear, some of the weirder stand abilities were great Stray Cat was a proper WTF.

On to Golden Wind.

The end credits theme of Golden Wind is a rather odd choice.

A member of the group does go by the name JoJo though, so it kind of fits.
Its a 90's RnB classic

One Piece Dressrosa arc: this arc is all over the place. It's at its best for me when Lucy is in the arena; Tontattas make their move; Straw Hats take on the officers (Usopp's being the highlight); erm, Law's and Soldier's backstory (ditto Mingo); and the climax. In other areas it stumbles and makes me wish it'd just get on with it. Prime example of a stumble: Sabo's reveal. Why keep teasing him when it's so bloody obvious. I liked him being in the arc, but even some of his stuff felt like it could have done with tightening up a bit.

Is the One Piece anime worth watching?

If you have a hell of a lot of time on your hands, absolutely.

One Piece Dressrosa arc climax: So disappointed Luffy didn't punch him through the cage.

On to Golden Wind.

One of the great things about Kira is how his power evolved over the course of the show. Killer queen isn't overwhelming like DIO or the pillarmen were, if anything Jotaro is and that's shown by how he beats Kira in every direct confrontation. Kira's heavily outmatched and he's forced to be tenacious to keep a step ahead.

Golden Wind is great but it's like the only part of JoJo where the main character isn't particularly interesting to me.

It's due to filler arcs I think

It's not far off!

There are apparently 112 episodes of filler, which seems shockingly low compared to the rest of the Big Three, and considering how long it's been going.

One Piece actually has some enjoyable filler arcs. Not the pure shite that Naruto and Bleach did. :dread:

One Piece filler is usually canon but dragged out. 1 chapter per episode is the pace from about 500 episodes in.

You can quite easily enjoy the anime for hundreds of episodes without feeling the pacing being an issue.

I'd certainly recommend the anime for several hundred episodes as it's very watchable. I'm manga only since the last 8 years or so and occasionally watch the fights on YouTube edited to be paced well.

 It's a cheap laugh but I always get the giggles when they show Chopper's bounty.

The only filler arc I've seen from One Piece was the one immediately after Skypeia. In terms of the story it really doesn't fit at all with what happens later but it was pretty fun and the commander of the fortress was a boss.

GW episode 13

Giorno is a mad bastard.

Deliberately getting infected by Purple Haze Smoke (a bloody nasty stand when you think about it) on a hunch that Golden Wind could cure it.

He's definitely more a Joestar than he is Dio's sprog

I'm assuming I can skip 13.5 as it's a recap episode.

I’m 69 chapters in to One Piece and still loving it.The crew now has a cook. It’s always funny to me how they flit between Luffy being a cartoonish dope in one frame and an uber cool badass the next (even though he’s still just stretching about like a gimp). It’s a lot of what I enjoyed about the style in One Punch Man when I watched it.

I am finding the pure black and white art difficult to follow at times though. Kind of kills the pace at times when I’m chugging along and I have to stop dead to work out wtf I’m supposed to be looking at.

The anime particularly in the early few hundred episodes is well worth watching over reading the manga.

The music, the voice acting, the pacing and obviously being colourful and animated makes it very easy to watch.

It doesn't switch to HD and wide-screen till about 200 episodes in but even in 4:3 SD it's by far the better choice over the manga.

I agree with David, the early arcs are worth watching. I dropped off the manga fairly quickly when I first tried to read it as I couldn't quite get into it, but I absolutely blitzed the anime.

Ah, it’s a time thing for me, really. I can, say, read a few pages or a chapter in work when waiting for code to build, but I can’t just stop start the anime
