The art style reminds me of some of the weirder bits in Akira, when Tetsuo totally loses his gooseberry fool especially..

Started on the One Piece anime. Got a legit belly laugh a few episodes in after Buggy is being coy with Luffy re whereabouts of Shanks. (Luffy takes Buggy's teasing response of Maybe I know where he is but maybe I don't literally and asks Buggy if he's stupid  The blank look on Luffy's face made it.)
The animation quality in this is makes it hard to believe it was made in 1999.

Not entirely sold on the art style but the first episode was good enough to make me want to see more so I'll keep watching it.

Mob Psycho's great, it's so visually creative

Still re-reading One Piece. Almost caught up with Wano arc. Again. My biggest take away yet is the relief that Oda wrote trans characters that aren't a shockingly awful caricature. (Yes. Despite that he's still got massive room to improve.)

Wano arc One Piece tees are out on UK Uniqlo. Chopper design looks like he's taking a dump

Jujutsu Kaisen tees were released last week. All designs were limited to 1 per customer in each size. They still sold out in less than 24 hours. (More stock is supposedly incoming though.)

Just the last couple of episodes of Mob Psycho 100 S1 to go, this show has gone from a bit meh in the first couple of episodes to one of the best anime series I've watched in recent years.

It's just so good.

Can't believe I didn't notice it was by the author of One Punch Man though, the characters eyes are such a giveaway (that vacant/bored expression of Mob and Saitama  )

Anyone else reading Sakamoto Days and loving how they've gone about representing the intensity of his movements? The manga is available on Viz/Shonen Jump.

Action has been drawn really well throughout. Oftentimes fight scenes can seem a bit stiff in manga but the author of Sakamoto Days seems great at displaying a sense of motion to his panels with big impacts for whenever a hit lands. Latest chapter was a great example of these strengths with Shin dodging while Sakamoto and Heisuke deliver some finishing blows.

One Punch Man is a fine series but Mob Psycho 100 is the real deal. The action is up there with the best OPM has to offer but the character growth and development is what makes it truly shine, plus Mob is just the goodest of boys.

Loguetown arc of One Piece anime. Man. WTF happened to the end of this arc?! :fp: Up until Smoker catches up with Luffy at the end: 8 / 10. (Some missteps, but it recovered well what with new stories being told.) After Smoker catches up with him: It gooseberry fool the Bed / 10.

We're on to another new story (about some girl) and it's started well so I'm hoping they don't manage to snatch another defeat from the jaws of victory.

I guess I am currently watching a filler arc on One Piece? (It's about the girl I mentioned before and an old dragon.) It's actually really good and could easily pass for content which was cut from the manga.

First series of One Piece down. I may have to start subbing to Crunchyroll for good, now.

One Piece manga and anime question:

Bad memory strikes again! In the manga, were there characters that had a unique laugh/audible tick before the Little Island arc? I ask because in the anime Dorry and Brogy are the first ones, which I can recollect (bad memory!) to have the pronounced and ever-present "laugh". I was expecting it to show up sooner but just assumed they'd all been cut out of the anime. So D&B having theirs is such a huge relief :D I hope more show up in future eps.

One Piece 1017 SPOILERS: In the comments section for 1016 or 1015, I remember some people being hyped at how much more beastly and badass Chopper's new form would be
