So I'm caught up with Sakamoto Days (new chapter was released on the 4th!) and before I could give either Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen another chance, I somehow REALLY got into Black Clover. Maybe because it's really simple stuff? (It's essentially Harry Potter.)

So I'm caught up with Sakamoto Days (new chapter was released on the 4th!) and before I could give either Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen another chance, I somehow REALLY got into Black Clover. Maybe because it's really simple stuff? (It's essentially Harry Potter.)

I'd probably give Black Clover another chance if Asta were to be fired into the sun and I could somehow wipe my memory of his hair. Probably for the best that I don't pick it up though as I'm a bit burnt out and struggling to read everything else in Jump each week.

One Piece anime's Alabasta arc climax (well, one of them): The scenes of Reminiscences of Vivi and Pell / Pell saving the day were immense. Such a shame they go and make it count for naught, what with Pell miraculously surviving the explosion Oh wait. That was in the manga. Maybe they don't bottle it in the anime...

Something pretty cool just happened in chapter 45 of BC: annoying guy (the one who's always going on about his sister) had an epiphany in the middle of a battle and thought up a new technique.

Slightly mixed feeling about how the anime handled the Alabasta arc. Overall it was great. The way they made the crossing feel like a slog was great, as was when the crew met and got to know the people who live there. It helped make what was to come matter more. The less good bits were Luffy finding out about the powder, and the bit with Vivi at the end felt poorly directed. That bit was night and day better in the manga.

Everything but Me & Roboco and Black Clover. Roboco does nothing but make references to other Jump series and isn't very funny for a gag manga - High School Family, Magu-chan and Witch Watch are actually funny and Witch Watch even manages to pull off the reference-shtick better. Black Clover is just one of those rare series where a character design or art-style puts me off and the less said about screaming anime Asta the better. From what I've gathered in manga groups is that it has some of the best pacing in the genre and a couple of really good characters so I'm sure you'll have a blast and I'm probably missing out.
