Finished Assassination Classroom  Much wholesome.

Back to One Piece! :toot:

Just noticed Haikyu!! manga is still ongoing. Looks like a lengthy read, too, at 202 chapters as of July 19. Hopefully it'll still be on there when I'm done with season 2 of the anime on Netflix.

I think Haikyuu just finished or is about to finish.

Gundam update - Now finished:

0079 Gundam First (the 3 movies)
0079 Gundam Igloo 1/2
0079 Gundam 08th Team
0079 War in the Pocket 0080
0079 Thunderbolt
0083 Stardust Memory

and I've started 0087 Zeta Gundam. The start is wild.

Started watching Parasyte but not really getting into it, seems to be veering towards what would have been called a "Video Nasty" in the 80's territory, there's something kind of unsettling about it and not just the mutating body parts.

What is the point of people being animals in Beastars? I keep getting told it's good, but when I try and watch it the complete lack of self awareness and on the nose character traits for the different animals makes me cringe.

It seems like the only purpose for the characters being animals is to make their character traits way too obvious to the audience.

Instead of writing complex characters it's just "oh cool, instead we can just tell the audience these guys don't get on because they're different animals, neat"

BNA on the other hand has a narrative reason for people to be animals, and it doesn't take itself too seriously.

I've also started watching Baki, what a crazy strawberry floating show

Also, I watched Super Eyepatch Wolf's video on Gantz and it really made me what to watch it, where's the best place to? It's not on Crunchy Roll or Netflix. He made Beserk sound really cool as well but I can't find the films anywhere to buy.

I couldn't get on with the art style when I tried watching it.

It also seems to delight in its violence a little too much.

I had no issues with the style, I just thought it was dull. And I like action based animes/mangas.

I'm surprised, Baki is known as one of the craziest, most popular action mangas of all time. Some of the gooseberry fool that happens in it is unreal.

I've only watched the first couple of episodes and I don't see how anyone could see it as dull, silly or lacking depth I could understand.

Beastars is dull, an anime where 5 master criminals punch people's faces off is not. It's basically dragon ball z without all the bullshit.

I think in the first episode a guy breaks bullet proof glass by making a vortex with his hand and then blows a guys intestines out of his ear

One of the dudes literally swims across the atlantic to go fight Baki, this is after being electrocuted on an electric chair and refusing to die.

So dull.

Also, one of the other guys finds Baki and shoots a gun through his own cheeks, then puffs the smoke our through the holes

The story is bare bones but it really doesn't matter when you get crazy gooseberry fool like that every 5 minutes.

I would enjoy the crazy stuff in Baki if it wasn't its only redeeming feature. As it is, nothing else on the show did anything for me: the art, the violence, the characters, the dialogue... it was either OTT, or OTT and (somehow or another) gross.

Having to sift through drama is barely a solution.

Both Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill are excellent.

Watched more of it and its actually really good.

Main character is a bit of a dickhead though tells weird stalker girl everything about the parasytes yet refuses to explain to his girlfriend why he keeps disapearing on her

And done.

Was really quite good overall, not the best but certainly worth a watch.
