Chainsaw Man: New arc. Change of pace is great. Everything is so tense now. And that lady and her fiends are terrifying. As is the creepy ol' bastard Santa.

Watching the current season of MHA first though.

I need to get back to watching MHA. LOVED the first series, and although I like how Deku grew in s2, I just didn't like how his older form looked. Ditto his outfit. So those things put me right off it. But I should get around to giving it another chance.

Some really striking art in the mid 60 chapters of Chainsaw.

The third season of MHA is probably the best one overall. I had high hopes that season four could have fixed some of the pacing issues the Yakuza arc had in the manga but it really didn't and this season which should have easily been the best yet has had glacial pacing and a rearranged order of events which hasn't helped.

The trip to hell and the aftermath is just bonkers, Fujimoto really must have been on something throughout. It's going to be glorious seeing this animated. Just reading that bit again and I totally forgot about Denji pouring petrol on himself to create some light. Absolute madman.

Chainsaw 73: Oh god. I was legit scared Makima was gonna kill Aki after he asked the team to be pulled from the big op.

That's one of the best parts of the manga, and it's the thing that cemented it as one of my all time favourites

I think because I only watch the anime and don't read the manga (of anything)I actually enjoy it more as I have nothing to compare it to or get annoyed by small changes to the plot.

Chainsaw Man: And done. That was great. I got a bit lost toward the end but I loved it all the same. Extremely pleased to hear there'll be a second part to it.

I still enjoy it and it is a good adaptation overall, just a little disappointing after the sheer quality of those first three seasons. The manga went through a period of roughness where Horikoshi was struggling to meet the deadlines each week and you could feel that throughout season four and the first part of season five, but from that point on it was a return to form so it's a bit frustrating to be getting rearranged events and entire filler episodes. I guess next season will be the one with how ridiculously stacked it should be.

I can only assume that the double gut punch of losing Aki and Power and then laughing at Kobeni on her date overshadowed it in my memory.

VANVURVUR!!

Absolute rollercoaster of emotion in those final 20 chapters or so.

The hamburger/date part is too strawberry floating good and comes out of nowhere
The gundemon part is such impactful story telling and it's then followed up by the loss of Aki, also I want power back :'(

Think I just watched the last episode of MHA this season before things properly kick off (according to the comments on Crunchyroll at least). I hear some characters are possibly going to die this season.

Going to wait a few weeks to watch more though as I'm at the point of having to wait a week between episodes and much prefer to watch 3 or 4 episodes in one sitting.

Just started Black Clover and it seems pretty promising in spite of Asta constantly shouting.
