Not only did they skip 2 of the best arcs from the manga (as I understand) - the ending was just completely rushed. It's like nothing really happened and then in the space of 2 episodes every single little plot point was resolved. I'm guessing they didn't want to make a season 3 or something so rushed it to an ending but that was weird.

I haven't read the manga but I lost interest in season 2 about halfway through, and I really liked the 1st season. Was pretty entertaining watching its MAL score steadily drop though.

One Piece 574: Why did Marineford have to be so brutal an arc ( ,..) Before I got to that arc I was blasting through chapter after chapter everyday. Then I get to Marineford, and knowing what I know is to come made me slow right down. Part of me wanted to skip it entirely (and I may actually do that if I ever re-reread it) but I forced myself through it. One tragedy down. One to go. But! The way the book goes from Impel Down straight into Marineford is just masterful.

One Piece 577: I guess that wasn't as bad as I remembered it as at least he wasn't alive when he had that done to him. But Teech saying he's invincible or whatever is kind of moot what with his original power being what it was.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! I'd COMPLETELY forgotten so much. One Piece 579: Croc saving Luffy and Jimbei, and then strawberry floating BUGGY saving them  But I can't believe how ballsy Koby was to stand up to Akainu, and then Shanks saving the day. Kizaru's face when he realises someone has his number

I’m not revealing those spoilers but I’m just popping in to say that your *reactions* have made me decide “you know what, yeah, I’ll read a huge, long-running manga for the first time” so I downloaded the Shonen Jump app for One Piece and this thing seems like... insane value? £1.99 a month for all these back issues? New issue are always free? Whaaaat

 :toot:

Yeah. The value is bonkers. (I get charged double because it's a foreign currency charge, but it's still crazy good value.) There is a limit on how much you can read everyday, but I've never come close to the daily 100 chapter limit.

There's load on there that's worth reading. So just ask for recommendations and I'm sure everyone will be happy to mention their favourites again.

Yo that's a pretty great price; do you know if the online only Jump+ comics are included in there?

Yup, I know those are on there for sure. Spy x Family is up to chapter 43 (last updated on March 21), and Kaiju No. 8 is on c29. (Last updated on the 18th.)

You really went above and beyond there haha, I appreciate it man. There's some stuff on the back catalogue there that I want to read as well as currently publishing stuff, so I may buy into this.

Well I’m 13 chapters in and loving One Piece.

I was happily enjoying the feel-good adventure vibes and now that gooseberry fool with the dog and the pet store has torn me in half

Happy to help! (In the end I almost did it because I didn't want to be bested by the ridiculousness of their not providing a text list of the manga included in the sub.)

Given that it was my hyper witterings that pushed you into paying to read it, I'm legit glad you're enjoying it.

One Piece 603:

WAIT!! So that's ROGER'S straw hat that Luffy has?!

EDIT: Holy gooseberry fool! It is!

:!:

I've been so immersed in reading old issues, and playing WH40K Inquisition - Marty I totally forgot about the scan release! Massive thanks for the reminder. (I took up your suggestion and now read both the scan and the official release. I'm gonna pin the tab so I don't forget in future.)
