Cue chanting of "please, please, please, please" by rival fans all over the country.

"Please, please, please, please don't shag my wife."

"Please, please, please, please don't be a racist."

Terry's going to win this, I think. He's very obviously guilty and his excuse is laughable, but the Crown have done a terrible job of proving it. :(

I think they have deliberately done a bad job so Terry doesn't get sentenced.

Can't say I'm shocked.

Sounds like he is guilty but this should never have gone to court in the first place.

The only way it wouldn't go to court if John Terry admits that he made a racist comment.

I still think he had said it in response to Ferdinand asking if he had said it.

Fedinand also strawberry floated himself over with his own statement. At the time that he said Terry spoke with him after the match, Chelsea were already on the coach and on their way, which was confirmed by the coach driver (who I doubt is going to lie when it doesn't involve him). Ferdinand was asked to confirm the timings various times, yet he stuck to his story.

So because he happens to play for the team I support, my view isn't as valid as anyone else's? Bit of a double standard here, seeing as others were stating they liked him when he plays for England, but not when he plays for Chelsea.

Seeing as the issue isn't even about football, the team I support means strawberry float all. I call it as I personally see it.

I was talking to a Chelsea supporting mate about this and he said racism scandals add fire to football and are good talking points. I had no idea how to respond.

He was asked to 'please repeat something four times', but he thought they meant 'Repeat please four times'.

Bullshit. Ferdinand made the crack about him shagging Wayne Bridge's missus, Terry responded with a racist insult. The idea that he would repeat exact words (that weren't even said) is laughable.

He was asked how many times he'd been sent off and said "four times", he was asked to "repeat, please, four times" for the benefit of the court. Hilarity ensued.

To be fair, it's a weird way to ask.

He knows there is the possibility that millions can see though. If he really wanted to, he could've made sure no one else saw & heard. Then you have the statement from Cole, who is very good friends with the Ferdinands.

Even so, I don't see why it went to court when they both had a conversation about it after the match, and it seemed to be put to bed.

Why?

If every similar instance of one line of racist 'abuse' ended up in court the country would fold in on it's knees. I'm not saying that nothing should be done, it just shouldn't require a 5-day court case.

But if it were glossed over, people would think that it's ok to make such remarks. Because it's high-profile, the right thing has to be done.
