The Official GRCADE Thread Discussing The Bald Headed Manc Twat... that is Karl Pilkington..

Image
Ahead of his new book coming out thought GRCADE needs a thread to discuss his views on life, the universe, god, evolution and popular culture..

as we do this .. i thought an ongoing game we could play is to name our favourite name or title for him given to him by Rick or Steve....

Mr K. Dilkington
Baldus Mancus - his Latin name
Round headed Fool That is Karl Pilkington
or my favourite.
Karly Pilkboys

I really don't know if he puts it on or not. I've listened to the first three seasons of the Ricky Gervais podcast and, well, he's almost too stupid. And then he comes out with the odd really clever thing.

The jury is still out, for me.

Real or not, Karl is an absolute legend. Love the guy.

There's a new season of the Ricky Gervais show out in September! Can't wait. Although oddly it's being marketed as Season 5 when there's only been 3 seasons.

I genuinely believe he's really like that. I've listened to every podcast they've ever put out along with the entire back cataclogue of shows the did for XMF, and he's exactly the same in every single one. The leap between the early XFM shows and recent podcasts is seamless.

Either way I love the bloke. I've bought and loved both of his books and eagerly await his newest, along with the final season of podcasts in September.

If you listen to the first XFM series with him (available on Pilkipidia I think) it's more than obvious that Steve Merchant genuinely hates him. There's no banter or jokes, Merchant lays into him as often as he can. It's actually quite painful listening.

That said, Karl's Diary is absolutely fantastic:

"Did I tell you about the immune system?"

I think he's a bit 50/50, I think he genuinely has some of the ideas he comes out with, but sometimes even when he realises what he says is stupid, or obviously wrong, he carries on anyway for comedic effect.

Bloody funny though!

PS, When is the new series out then? been waiting for it since the Podfather episodes, some of the funniest material there is out there.

I've heard every radio show (that was recorded) and podcast several times by now

The worrying thing is my girlfriend agrees with most of what he says. She also has a head like a strawberry floating orange.

Here's some pictures from her last birthday that I made to demonstrate:

Dude.. dont she mind you saying her head 'is like a strawberry floating orange' and posting it online...

tbh i can see the roundness.. she needs to shave the hair off...

ur post reminds me off the line from the Fame Podcast ( i think) where Karl reckons he and his friend are being propsitioned by some swingers.. and Steve says.. 'he just has a thing for strawberry floating oranges'

The moment in Karl's Diary when it's revealed that there was a letter addressed to Mr K Dilkington is one of the funniest moments of the podcasts ever and I don't even know why!
