15 more insane details. (Obviously some spoilers like the other videos). Some really are insane like the debris from bullet impacts causing ripples in water...Did anyone else work out that you can climb the T-Rex. That's a pretty cool scene and I'd have never even considered it.

I don't know which was the scarier sight in Ground Zero: the freak show infected, or the fungal wound/mass it was birthed from :dread: :dread: :dread:

See, and the notes and the aftermath of what happened in there was perfect. (Especially the one in the room containing four or five skeletons.) Though it would have had even more impact if that side of it somehow linked with the freak show infected and the kit needed Yara. But again, that's just a minor issue, if you can even call it that.

I did that, it sounds stupid, but it was quite special :)

I highly recommend the DLC podcast episode 345 after just listening to it.

It's Jeff Cannata and Christian Spicers gaming podcast, you might remember them from the old Weekend confirmed. This episode they have an hour long spoiler discussion about The last of us part 2 at the end, with Dan Trachtenberg (director of 10 cloverfield Lane) and David Chen. David appears to be in the camp where most of moments we rave about didn't quite click with him so it turns into a really interesting discussion.

I honestly don't know how to process the last couple of hours I just played. That whole Island section was a trip. Yara's death really messed me up because you're conditioned to not expect it. At least it was like that for me. The dread leading up to the crossing point with Ellie was also intense. Surprised that we even had to face off against her. Felt almost MGS like. I do not what to expect from here on out.

I've completed it last night and I don't know what to think right now as it was unexpected, but what a helluva of ride from the beginning to the end!

This "3rd" act has a whole different vibe. Also hate when my gut feeling is correct cuz' I knew something was gonna happen during that Abby and Lev section. I swear if anything happens to Lev... Going through this resort area with stealth is proving tricky because these dogs are much more diligent. I feel like you could approach these encounters in so many different ways with how it's set up.

My only gripe with what I assume is the game's climax: it was too cinematic an encounter - too easy to fail, and I assume only a single way to come out on top. And yet I still loved it. And the concept itself made me yell out in surprise and excitement when I realised what was about to happen.

Been thinking about this game a lot today after listening to the Hotline Miami soundtrack, of all things. Might have to redownload it for a second, higher difficulty playthrough.

 Materials for them are plentiful and you don't need 'em for locked doors. Was that a thing in the first? I completely forgot.

Finished it. Ellie is a big dummy. They'll do a third where she gives up her life for a cure. And that better not be the last we see of Abby and Lev.

She looked like Ellie Croft in the end.

Just finished it. Bold...very bold. Some great points made in here that I agree with, but what resonated for me in particular was the theme of ‘control’ with Ellie. Her main source of anger seems to stem from her lack of choice, frustrated that her life - or what she wants from it - is often ripped from her grasp.
The entirety of Left Behind from the first game (well, mainly the Riley bits) plant the foundations for this really well. Ellie’s thinking she might be in love with Riley, but she instead intends to leave for the Fireflies...and then leaves again (:() neither of which Ellie can do even if she wants to.
Same deal at the end of the first game - we’re unsure if her knowledge regarding knowing she’d die (correct me if I’m wrong) but in the sequel here she is definitely NOT happy about what happened because she wasn’t in control, didn’t have a say.
Fast forward to this game and you begin to understand why she’s so hell bent and of a...singular tracked mind. She finally has choice, agency. And wants to unleash 18 years worth of not having it. It informs the ending scenes very well too, I think.

Well sheeeeeet. 45 hours later, that TLOU2 wrapped. Minds a blur with so many thoughts of that entire experience. I wasn't expecting that ending, yet it made perfect sense at the same time. I honestly only had one issue throughout my playtime. Other than that, was pretty damn gripped from start to finish. Imma need some time for this to all sink in lol.

Was taking my time with this and finally finished this morning so will ramble out some incoherent thoughts.

- On the whole I think I preferred the pacing of the first game. Having Joel and Ellie travel the country over several seasons gave a lot more variety than we see in Part 2. This felt like the overly long Boston section in Spring for 90% of the game.

- Sorta bugged me how it makes out Joel was definitely in the wrong for what he did at the end of the first game. I don't see how a group like the Fireflies having a cure is going to make any difference at this point in the apocalypse. Are we meant to believe they'd develop it, produce however much and freely hand it out across the country? Like every zombie-themed media, the infected aren't even the real threat. A lot of main side characters are killed in this game and, off the top of my head, not one is killed by an infected.

- I appreciated the marketing. I can see why people would be upset about the switch in character models in the trailer but it's not overly uncommon. I'm sure people did somewhere on the internet, but I don't remember people kicking off about the Infinity War trailers.

- I thought having to play as Abby was great, and definitely unexpected. Not sure if it was just me imagining it or her guns, but did she have slightly better aim or stability than Ellie? Maybe it had just taken me a while to get used to the shooting.

- Hated her and her group at the start but they did a great job at getting you on side and feeling guilty knowing you've already killed most of them (particularly the dogs).

- Highlight of the game for me was Hillcrest I think it was called. When Ellie's going through multiple sections against the Wolves, something (with who you assume is Tommy) is kicking off nearby and the music keeps ramping up making you feel like you really have to rush through to the end.

- Game was scary as hell. Almost fell out of my chair when I got hit by the arrow in the first encounter with the Scars.

- Genuinely didn't know how it was going to end in that final fight against Abby. I wanted Ellie to just stop and was relieved when she finally did.
