I've just finished playing this

Somehow I'd managed to remain totally unspoiled on anything at all to do with the game, so Abby being in the game, and that early shock, really hit me. strawberry floating brutal. Hat's off to the voice actors for their performances, especially Ellie's as her reactions were really powerful. Very well done how you can see both sides of the story and realise in the end everyone has someone they love and has someone taken from them, just because you know one character more than another doesn't make their situation more Important. The only real critisisms I have are the disconnect between what you're asked to do as one character, and what you actually want to do. In the theatre, Having to fight Ellie, I don't want to, there should be an option to not have to fight her, as it took me out of the moment.. The other is that the game goes on too long (my play was about 40 hours I think). Granted a lot of that was scavenging, but then that's what you're supposed to and need to do. If it had a few hours taken out of it (like the serephites island. I get it's to show you Abby turn on the wlf, but the build up lasts for ages, it'd be a 10/10, but I'd put it at a very high 9. Great game.

Glad you enjoyed it and managed to not get spoiled!

40 hours is definitely on the high side, I think mid-twenties is the average. Still a very long game, but more in line with a full length US TV series or something.

Have to disagree on the fight against Ellie, giving the player a choice would make it worse! Obviously you don't want them to fight, but that's sort of the point - that you're playing as the characters, not yourself.

After getting this for Christmas I decided to replay Last of Us first as I hadn't played it since it came out in 2013 and figured I could do with the refresh on the story.

I was playing the Remastered version on PS5 and it looked incredible. I really loved it again and still think it is a 10/10 game so i'm glad I replayed it.

I thought i'd have a week before jumping into this and play something less intense like Bugsnax in the mean time, but after being given two days off work due to the snow, I figured now is as good a time as any!

Currently in Seattle and have just opened up the gate where I was hunting around for gas.

Loving all the little gameplay changes so far, but the only thing i'm not mad about is the open-worldness of it - I would rather it was just a bit more linear as I find I spend so much time just wandering around looking for something, and it ends up being a small reward that wasn't worth the effort. It certainly has a strong start with the story, even if it was a little predictable about what was going on with Abby. I've got no idea where the story is going, as I have avoided all spoilers for this, but i'm assuming the whole thing will be to do with Ellie trying to get revenge on Abby killing Joel, realising she did it for the same reason she is about to in that Joel killed someone she loves, and then they become buddies of some sorts in the end. Although that could be completely wrong obviously!

Yeah, was going to say

I thought it was an interesting design experiment, you can see it as a follow up to Madagascar in Uncharted 4.

I’m guessing there’s not much of it then which is good. I think part of the problem is I tend to want to go and explore everything normally, but because the game can be so tense and you have such limited ammo, it’s a decision on is the potential reward worth the risk which I suppose was a design choice for them.

I can't believe how long this game is! I've just got to Seattle Day 2 after playing for what feels like 7-8 hours and had a quick look at a chapter list online to see how much more I've got to get through - I've barely made a dent in it!

I'm still really enjoying it, and definitely prefer the combat in this compared to the OG, and it does feel a bit easier too. I'm blitzing through on normal and have quite a bit of ammo which is something I never really experienced in LoU. I would bump it up in difficulty to the next level, but i'm too much of a chicken gooseberry fool to do so as the game is so tense that the last thing I need is for it to be harder when something happens. :slol: The only other thing i've noticed that seems to be different is the amount of stuff that happens in dark corridors and rooms now, a lot of locations seem to have a section where it's just pitch black and you're relying on your torch (which is realistic, but a bit too scary for me at times  ).

It's definitely more liberal with ammo than the first game. No stressing over shiv doors either!

The combat is so well realised, I think it's how contextual it always is that really grounds it - it's obviously no sim, but it's always so immersive. I think you get a good rate of unlocking new weapons or upgrades to play with too.

To those who are interested in the multiplayer mode, would you be ok if ND released it as paid DLC? For me I'd be more than ok if it's a substantial update and mode. But I can see some folks being iffy on having to pay for it especially after GoT released theirs for free.

I'd rather it be a full paid separate thing with no shitty microtransactions or extra paid for weapons or skills.
I'd certainly pay £25 for that as the first Factions mode was terrific.

I realise I may be in the minority here though.

I bought the Digital Deluxe Edition so if it was a paid for add on I’d rather it be included as part of the Deluxe Edition.

I imagine it'll be a separate game entirely.

I think I'm finally going to get my second playthrough in now that I've finished Control. I can't wait :msgreen:

As far as Factions goes, I never played the original and I'm not sure I'll play the new one either. Not sure why, it just never appealed enough to try it.

I couldn't get into faction either but still enjoyed the premise. After part 2 I feel like it would make much more sense here. If they let you choose which side to be on that would be dope too.

Factions was fantastic on the first game. Id happily pay for it as DLC but i do think it'll be a separate game.

Why is going through this to pick up all the collectibles so stupid?

You have to quit and reload saves to get them to register and it still doesn’t show them in your total number. Why wont it let you just dip into a chapter, find the extra collectibles and then quit out without all the bollocks?

Yeah it was stupid and I had to do a speed run on the lower difficulty to find them all what I missed on my first playthrough. :fp:

The collectibles in Uncharted and TLOU have always been rubbish. Other than finding the precursor orb I never bother looking for more than just what I find naturally playing through the game.

I'd call Uncharted 2, TLOU and TLOU three of my favourite games of all time and I have played through them multiple times yet they all have something like 30% trophy completion

Also I genuinely don't understand the chapter select and save files in TLOU2.
