Hey I can’t comment, I’ll be spending around £90 later in the year getting both Pokémon games which barring a few changes are normally almost identical (unless this years games have big differences, although I doubt it) so I really can’t comment on spending £80 on a game

Has any game? I struggle to see the benefit in many ways for a digital console owner (at least PS5) the PSN store invariably has huge prices most of the time, the sale is usually the same games over and over again, and physical copies can be picked up on release or not long after with better discounts. Not to mention second hand copies.

I do think the store should offer some incentive for going digital but it’s rare that it does

It’s obviously not consumer friendly, but the saving at the point of sale is a big factor to many. Those with lower income get shafted.

I think the 'it'll be half price in a few months' talk is massively exaggerated. The only game this gen that started off at £70 with a significant margin off that within 6 months has been Deathloop, and that's what led me to pick it up. A game being down to £55 3 months after release is still taking the piss. That's what I paid for Last of Us 2 on release and is still the most I've ever paid for a game Day 1.

I got it for £20, started it, got as far as the Big Event then for some reason stopped. It was the same with the first one - I didn't return to it for a couple of years for some unknown reason.

Because £80 wasn't bad enough they've announced a super-duper edition at £100.

I've been critical of this remaster - more for the cost rather than the idea - but this Digital Foundry look at the (brief) preview footage has highlighted a fair amount of things that have been enhanced and re-done; it does look very good in places.

It still feels like a tough call to pick this up when the PS4 version can be had for around £55 cheaper, though. Even though Sony don't like free upgrades, a £5 or £10 upgrade fee may have been a better way forward.

An easy trick that Sony have yet again missed - put this on the top tier of PlayStation Plus as a ‘free’ download. People who weren’t keen on ponying up that £80 or whatever it was per year will do it in a heartbeat.

The Era thread is tying themselves in absolute knots over this.

Her model went from stylised caricature to super-realistic. New model is better by leaps and bounds. (Not just because it's realistic but because it getts over what stress will do to you.)

Yeah, as we see a few more clips and pics I'm starting to appreciate the new models.

I do want to get this ( :shifty: ) but only once the price has dropped by quite a bit; as I did with Uncharted 4.

Which one is more accurate in terms of her age in the game - is she supposed to be in her 20s/30s or 40s/50s?

Or have they changed it where she was younger in the original but they've now decided to make her older in the remake?

They also did the same with Nathan Drake in Uncharted on PS4, but I think he's ageing with the narrative.

Remake looks great, but then so does the original still. It's not that there is "no difference", clearly there is, it just does nothing for me as a selling point.

Exactly, it's the law of diminishing returns. There is a difference, it's just doesn't really change the experience enough to make it valuable.

Just think how many poor artists ND are whipping through the night to make a slightly more high fidelity version of something that was already good enough. This is what you went to college for folks, to make a piece of background furniture look a bit nicer, congrats!

She was apparently always meant to be in her 40s / same age range as Joel.

The stresses and strains of the post-apocalypse, and running a smuggling ring.

After the comparison, I can't help but see a Witcher 3 monster in the original model...
