Can't see a thread.

Anyone watching this? It's pretty good so far.

Episode 3
That episode went nothing like I was expecting last night and was actually pretty heartbreaking at the end but it was nice they both went out on their own terms.

I'm hoping it will get a blu ray release as a lot of the HBO stuff does seem to (House of the Dragon came out on disc before christmas).

It's been a great show so far, but episode 3 was incredible.

Been great so far. Second ep was enthralling and third was beautifully done.

Saw the first episode - really, really good! They should make a video game of it.

So is the first season going to cover just the first game or both games (if only the first are they bringing this back for a second season?). The first episode stuck very close to the game, I guess they're not going to branch out too much from the games story (I have no problem eitherway).

Finished both games. I remember the events and story beats from the first episode in the game so clearly, but after the opening of the first game its a bit of blur, so this will be like watching it if was new to me. Seriously from the first game after the opening sequence I remember;

- Ellie in a building walking through water
- A giraffe
- Pushing something out of the way then narrowly squeezing through a crevasse just in time
- A cute rabbitgetting killed
- Walking around a hospitalwith intermittent lighting

I should play them again at some point!

Edit. Talking of decent game adaptions the Fleabag woman is rumoured to be involved with a Tomb Raider show https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radi ... ies-amazon I'd watch the gooseberry fool out of that! Really enjoyed the (non-related) 2018 film. We've had the comic book to film era we're now about to enter the videogame adaption golden age :toot:

I’m going to get round to it at some point, suspect I’ll probably end up picking it up on disc (as I do still like having some series on disc), still have House of the Dragon to watch first.

Yeah, I wasn’t so sure about last nights episode at the start but by the end it was probably the best of the 3 so far.

All three episodes have been great, but I think ep2 was the best so far. They absolutely nailed Clickers!!

Agree. Better than any single episode of any show I watched last year.

Haven't played the games, do I need any prior knowledge of them to enjoy the TV adaptation?

I wouldn't say you do. In fact it probably helps so you don't keep comparing the game and show.

Nah. I only know the start of the game and wouldn't say any knowledge at all is useful. The show explains everything well enough.

I’ve been enjoying it. Episode 3 seems to have people falling over themselves with praise for it, I didn’t really like it at all. Bill’s Town is probably my favourite chapter of the game and while I understand the need for changes I just didn’t like the representation of Bill they went with. In particular the meeting with Frank just seemed daft. I guess it’s largely a case of already having built up a picture of how things happened and then it differing from that.

Was episode 3 a beautiful and tragic love story?

NO! It wasn't exactly like the game. :x

I wonder how TLOU2 will eventually be adapted without bumming people out on a weekly basis. It’s by design a very grim, punishing storyline. When I consider that lots of critics enjoyed this week’s ep because it felt looser and more light-hearted, I can’t help but think: ‘well, that’s your lot’.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did something else with S2 of the show before trying to adapt Part II. There's 5 years between games after all so plenty of time to fit something else in.
