I think I cleared less that half the shrines as well :fp:

On the plus side it will be like playing some kind of extended edition when I replay it

Was it ever possible to get the classic tunic in this without an amiibo?

The Ocarina of Time tunic is only from the amiibo if that's what you mean. There is a properly classic tunic (as in Zelda 1 tunic) from completing all 120 shrines.

Gah I hate stuff gated by amiibo, although I do still have the 8-bit Link Amiibo, wonder if that unlocks it?

Anything Zelda related will unlock something.

Pirated amiibo cards and all the costumes before leaving the plateu :datass:

I like the fierce deity link one the best, he looks great.

If I buy these, are they what you used?

Not those exact ones, but yes that would do the trick. Some give food, materials, ancient parts, and the link ones mostly give costume sets.

All of those costumes have terrible armour rating though

It's all about the looks :capnscotty:

I hate the way the guardian armour looks so crap, when it's the one you have to have equipped if you go toe to toe with the guardians. That stupid traffic cone hat :dread:

All about the fashion in BOTW 8-)

I always fell back on the soldiers armour with earrings rather than the helmet as my default. Looks decent and pretty much the best defence

Not entirely, you have to reach certain points in the game to unlock the DLC areas.

Features like the hero path and all the items that come via chests will be available though?

Yes. Hero's path is so useful from the start too.

Yes.

I strongly recommend giving hero's mode a go too because you get much better items even if its really hard. That's my current play through on switch.

You can turn it on and off at any point which is nice so you have an optional challenge throughout the whole game and the dlc.

Or maybe those are the chests. The harder enemies from the start have better weapon drops.

Oh what, so you can toggle Hero Mode on and off as you see fit during your play through? Also, if you start Hero Mode, does it create a separate save or will that also overwrite the data?

I like the mixed up enemy types and floating platforms in Hero Mode but I think the regenerating health ruins it - it forces you into a specific, aggressive kind of playstyle which means you can't be as playful and experimental as when the game is at its best. I basically enjoyed playing through the Great Plateau in hero mode and then decided that was enough of it as an experience.
