The castle is so damn cool, there are so many ways of approaching it

You definitely want to explore the place though, plenty of secrets to find

It easily has the best piece of music from the whole game as well.

What...I've been there twice and the only Lynels I've seen are in a few towers.

Forgot I have the DLC for this so I need to get on and do that.

It seems no matter how long I play this I'm still really underpowered. How do you get hold of the better stuff?

Have you found many Great Fairies? Upgrading your armour makes a big difference

I think I found one or two. Will take your advice about upgrading armour when I work out how. :)

Upgrades are handy, although I’m not sure how much difference it has made.

I’ve found decent enough armour as I’ve gone so is mostly ok, shields however I only have 2 which is a bit gooseberry fool, I burn through them with guardians...

I do have the master sword now so that’s nice and I always have a few fairies in my bag just in case.

Upgrading at the fairies to get stronger gear is key, plus you can stock up on fairies whilst you're there to revive you on death as well.

Ace. What did you think all in all?

The main game is very good fun, lots of variety and I enjoyed exploring. Loved that you could find your own to stuff and not follow their path even up the castle with the waterfalls. The final battle was easier than all the other bosses and the after credits was slightly deflating but all in all very good.

Deffo keeping it to replay at some point and maybe be more aggressive, this play I was very passive and avoid conflict where I could.

Ended up doing beasts in order elephant, gecko, bird, camel and it seemed like a good route to take.

I've been posting in the Switch thread about playing through this. It's been a blast so far, I don't know why I slept on it for so long. I've still only done the elephant so far. The opening boss fight with it was strawberry floating incredible. Really enjoyed that.

I've just been wandering around the map a lot. I've got to a few towers, but there's a few I haven't been to claim (the one with the electric strawberry floaters all around it :dread: :dread: :dread: )

If this keeps up the goodness, I will need to reassess my top 5 zelda games.

This is the most common order I believe, I did the same and yes it makes sense if you follow the game's prompting

I'm not sure I was prompted that way.

Once I had done elephant I actually went to the camel town and did everything except go get the thunder helm as I get destroyed by some lank monsters of the way.

I ended up in that order mainly as I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get strawberry floated by those monsters the 2nd time round.

Didn't get all the memories in the end but I'm not too fussed by that I was using that Zelda Maps website for their locations anyways as sod working out silly riddles and aimlessly wandering.

I think I've missed something then. Spoilers:

I have finished the Elephant section and then moved on to tackle the Camel, which I've also completed. My next challenge is to attempt the Bird as I've met the Rito.

I don't think there were any particular prompts that led me in any direction after I'd helped the Zora, though - I was met by their Prince at the river which led me to their domain, I'm assuming that's a game prompt but I've had nothing similar to direct me towards the Gorons.

Now I'm guessing that there's something in that vein that I must have missed, in order for me to be able to scale Death Mountain? I've unlocked the entire map, but can't get close to the summit of the volcano without burning up. Even if I dequip all items and clothing and drink heat resistance elixir, I still catch fire once I get beyond the Tower.

I do have the Gerudo Women's outfit but I think that's sunlight heat as opposed to temperature heat as when I wear that I still burn up. Which is why I've not attempted to go when night falls, as it's still hot near the volcano.

What have I missed? I'd really like to meet the gorons...

Follow the path up and a solution should present itself.

I do think you can get where you need to go with just elixirs though. Hint:It isn't the summit.

Yep, I did the south-west second because I wasn’t prompted anywhere after the south-east and due to its proximity to the start I thought it’d be easier than the other two.

Mistake.

Here's the thing though; I've done this, and no such prompt occurred. I'm guessing I didn't pick my path starting point accurately enough though. Where should I be setting off from?
