Yes it has its own save slot.

I had no idea health regenerates in hero mode...

So I started my replay of Breath of the Wild last night, damn the game is still as great as I remembered it  last time I played I only put around 40/45 hours into it before i took on Ganon and finished the story, this time I plan on taking my time with it and completing more of the side activities plus also the DLC content.

Was trying to load my Amiibo cards into the game and I was doing them all at once and I forgot you can only spawn one chest at a time so lost a days worth of Amiibo drops :fp:

Worse than Robbo not getting all the blue coins in Mario Sunshine

 it is bad form, I literally completed about 14 side quests and I imagine I missed out a lot of hidden stuff in the world. Nice to have that Heroes Path map feature though so I can track where I have been

The heroes path feature is great for actually exploring the huge map!

I couldn’t imagine beating Ganon after 45 ish hours though, so much content missed out on, are you going to get all of the shrines this time too?

I did less than half the shrines last time, I probably won’t aim to do all of them but a majority I will look to beat. Mostly going to focus on side quests as well (I never actually found that SQ where you build the town before :shifty: ) I also need to beat that island where they strip you of all your items and you have to beat it with what’s on the island.

It’s practically a new game to me now

That is a lot of the game you still have to enjoy then! Let’s hope you have it out of the way for when the sequel comes out!

I bought again on switch a while ago. I played a little last night lighting the torches to hatano lab.

Need to get through the ancient guardians just to unlock the dlc.

I still haven't got the DLC for this :fp:

Might do a full replay from the start when I eventually pick it up

It's alright. Not sure you're missing out on a huge deal. If you want more BOTW and especially enjoy the combat and shrines it's good but I wouldn't say its essential.

Best part is having the Hero Path map option, very handy

Yeah this is partly why I've never quite pulled the trigger on getting it, the offering always felt a little lacking to me despite loving the base game

I've been playing again after completing on Switch, but on WiiU now, mainly because I can edit the save pretty easily. It's an amazing game when you can run at double speed and not get bogged down with minor baddies.

Got off the Great Plateau and now I’m into the world, so many side quests started to ping off which I think were from the DLC  also the one for Xenoblade 2, just need to find the journal in Outpost Ruins to get more info on the locations for them.

Great playing this again though

Trial of the Sword is easily the hardest challenge in the game, and the DLC divine beast has easily the best boss fight of the divine beasts.

What the DLC doesn't deliver on is more exploration which is a core part of BOTW's appeal. Hero's path is incredibly useful in helping you find what you might have missed, but also arguably worsens the way you approach exploration in the game, which is why I think it's better to get it after beating the standard game.

The Master Cycle Zero is underrated, but a novel new slate power would probably have made the DLC more appealing from the perspective of adding to the core game rather than being some additional non-essential content.

Scanned all the Amiibo cards this morning and I didn’t get a single piece of any of Links costumes

On the other hand, people would have probably complained if they felt like Nintendo held back other whole areas such as dungeons.

I wonder if its easy to import a wii u save (as I have an external hard drive with that) to the switch via sd card? I should probably just enjoy the game a second time and go straight for the main goals, which is exactly NOT how I played the game the first time around, but it is a very long game.

Question, is there anyway to guarantee what item drop you get from the Amiibo? I have tried all the cards I have the last few days and I have not got a single clothing item drop

I think you can reload without saving until you get what you want, or at least I remember reading something like that
