I agree that it works very well with side-quests but not so well with traditional Zelda dungeons. I don't actually think anything would be lost mechanically if the game had contrived to freeze time inside dungeons, and that would alleviate my main source of burnout with the game. It would probably lessen the overall identity of the game though with the ever present clock and sense of impending doom.

Also yes I'm quoting your deleted post so what come at me B)

Rudania saved, fireblight was a pierce of piss compared to waterblight. Probably helped that the arena has stuff to hide behind to avoid attacks and that which isn’t the case with waterblight.

So much more fun and comfortable playing this on Switch, it feels nicer than the U did not sure why and maybe it’s just in my head but it seems to just feel better.

My stepdaughter recently got a Wii U for the Zelda games (TP HD, WW HD and BOTW) so I put BOTW on and it looks better and runs better than it does on the Wii U without a doubt.

Got to 105 shrines and finally decided to defeat Ganon, what a game, I've lost so many hours to it since Christmas. Although I must say, the intended poignancy of the final scene was rather ruined by Link looking like a dweeb in the silly Guardian helmet.

I will probably mop up the final shrines and side quests over the course of the year but time for something new now, I haven't played anything else for months! Definitely straight into my top 5 games of all time and easily my favourite Zelda.

So, you know that recent v1.6.0 game update that added the Labo VR stuff? Well, it seems that the update also improved loading times for the main game; pretty significantly, too!

That's pretty impressive. I read is down to a new cpu overclocking setting.

That’s quite an improvement, I wonder what this could mean for other games loading times if the developers wanted to implement it. I wonder if they could slightly up the clock speeds of the Tegra X1 chip to improve performance in some areas as well? I’m sure I read it was briefly upped to 1.75GHz to help with loading but I wonder how a small increase in general play would help areas like Kakariko and Korok Forest where the Switch version still has slight issues with staying at 30 fps, a small increase probably wouldn’t cause the Switch to get near its thermal limits either as I dare say it’s running on the cautious side anyway normally running at 1GHz.

Hmmm definitely makes me consider a replay later down the line when I eventually get a switch.

Is this on both docked and portable mode? The latter would be interesting to investigate further as ramping up the CPU during loads might have further impact on the (already fairly short) battery life.

The load times were a bit annoying in BotW so this is definitely welcome!

We're overdue for an announcement of the next mainline Zelda. 2 years + on from the release of a console Zelda we've always known about the next one.

This is good news. I'm not sure we'll hear about it at E3 but by the end of the year maybe. Hopefully if they do the sensible thing and re-use a lot of the assets or even possibly a direct sequel then we may even have it by next year.

I don’t think I’m the only one who would like a slightly smaller, more story orientated game much like Majora’s Mask was to Ocarina of Time. I’d be Fine with them reusing a lot of the assets if it meant we got the next game quicker than BoTW which we first saw in 2014 and had to wait till 2017 to play, it was definitely worth the wait in the end though.

I like what Nintendo have been doing with their games recently though, only announcing a game much nearer its completion date, probably so we don’t have another Zelda Wii U/BoTW agonising wait for new information where at every direct and E3 we were eagerly waiting a release date only for it to be delayed etc. Ending their E3 show with a new Zelda announcement would be great, even if its just a short trailer and then we’ll get more info later in the year.

I found the castle to be far easier than I was expecting - just climb up the walls and avoid the line of site for the guardians and its a cake walk, I think there are supposed to be some Lynel fights as well but I think you can skip those but just climbing around the right way.

But why would you? At this stage you should be prepped to take on the Lynels, and it’s pretty thrilling to do so!

Oh yeah, they can be a fun challenge to take on, certainly more interesting than some enemies like the "Test of Strength" guardian fights ( :dread: )

I wasn't actively avoiding them when I did the castle, I just climbed my way up and missed them. I only realised there was way more to the castle when I went back to it later!

I plan to find a non fight route to the get brought it, by the looks there are lots of waterfalls I should be able to swim up to short cut up to the top.

I only found you got forced/cornered into battles if you went inside, outside there’s loads of guardians (and one Lynel but I won’t spoil just where!) but for the most part you can run by most enemies.
