I died a lot mainly down to stupidity of not thinking before I ran in to an area.

I did get screwed over by the blood moon a few times.

The Lynel at Zora's domain was the closest run thing but I just ate a load of meals I had thankfully prepared. Usually though it's enough to just pause to the inventory and jam a bunch of apples into Link's face mid-fight.

I must say the difference between the first and second divine beast runs with Mipha's Grace was crazy. I got through the second one and beat the boss very quickly.

Almost at 60 shrines now, think I'm making good headway!

I'm on a train so thought I'd jump back into this for a little bit. Turns out the auto save is right before some big bastard on death mountain smacks me with a huge hammer, and since I couldn't remember the controls I died about 5 times. Think I'll just look at the scenery and come back another time.

Load up an earlier save, or just take the hit?

I think I'll just try to power through once I go back properly, it's a matter of pride now.

Aren't there usually multiple saves? Can you not just go back to the one before?

I've got about half way through the story but haven't gone back to finish it, it's been a good year or so since I've loaded up, I'm tempted to restart my save as I'm totally lost anyway and can't remember the mechanics. Try and finish it without a massive break!

I'm replaying on switch in master mode and the new enemy placements are sure interesting. Plus there's a strawberry floating striped silver lynel on the Great plateau.

And it's very, very hard.

Theres a special kind of agony when you discover a new souped up Lynel and he just splatters you.

Two Divine Beasts and 69(lol) shrines down. All twelve memories found. Probably about 50 hours in. Motoring along with everything but the Koroks, really.

I can see this pipping Resi 2 and a couple of others to be my favourite game of the last console generation. It's that good. And a special mention for the music as well, there are a few musical cues(Rito Village, King Rhoam's leitmotif) that have completely triggered me throughout the game.

I think, in a sequel to this, I would like to see just a bit more in the way of story content and life in the world. It's good that there are small settlements everywhere on the map and I think the game has done a great job of really selling the post-apocalyptic vibe of the realm, but if BOTW2 is set in a Hyrule recovering from the Calamity I'd like to see it thriving.

You going for the compendium and giant monster hunting rewards?

The compendium sounds just as tedious as getting all the figurines in Wind Waker, maybe more so.

I've been taking pictures of everything I see, but I don't know if I'll get them all and I'm not sure what the reward is.

I gave up getting all the figurines in Wind Waker as it was taking far too long and I’ve already missed at least one possible photo in this.

The sheer scale of the game means I’m very unlikely to ever 100% it so I’m not too bothered really.

I'm determined to do as much as I can, and at the very least I'll not be going for Ganon until I've finished all the divine beasts and shrines. The game's wrapped me up now, I'll be lost in Zelda for at least the next few weeks.

I’ll likely settle for getting most if not all quests done and as many shrines as I can find.

I keep finding cool new gooseberry fool like I went back to the plateau to farm wood only to be accosted by a huge enemy on my way back, I got the strawberry float out of dodge :D

There's definitely a cut off point where you have to call it a day in terms of finding everything - well literally there is because it's not actually possible to find absolutely everything thanks to a few things like treasure chests which are hidden out of bounds!

Just enjoy the ride and collect as much as you are finding enjoyable!

I got back into the game in early June as well having played it in sort of three or four 20 hour chunks over the years since March 2017.

Unfortunately I've been sucked back in and just want to play it, when I've got a big exam coming up. Hope it keeps its lure until next week as I should be free then.

I'm approaching Hour 100 with one divine beast down, two towers/areas still undiscovered and about 78 shrines finished.

I'll probably go do the Roto beast soon - in true Zelda fashion I went to do it, then explored the surrounding areas, and then went a bit further and now I'm back on the Great Plateau because obviously.

I loaded up my old save on this over the weekend and was shocked that I only actually completed 14 out of the 90 side quests  also I don’t think I really touched much of the season pass stuff either.

I think I’m going to replay this once the OLED Switch comes and take my time with it exploring all the content I missed out on.
