I'm gonna go against the grain here and say good for him. Even if it's a very obscure thing to be into, it's still something he's worked hard for and (presumably) got some fun and satisfaction out of, so I'm happy for him.

Oh I'm not having a go at the guy, it's a hugely impressive achievement and if he (and others following him) have had a good time out of it then that's fantastic!

Totally! I'm always happy for the people doing it. For sure it's not something I could personally do or watch though. The frustration of playing (or watching someone) for 10 hours then having to go back to the start...!

I think we should all clap for him at 6.

I tried clapping for him but my hands broke after the third clap and then I was struck by lightning

This. And it's probably very impressive to watch as well.

How did I get through an entire run on this and never step foot in Lurelin Village? Just stumbled upon it on my second playthrough and it's the nicest place in the whole game, I could chill here for days

Man what a shame to miss out on that in a first play through. It really is a wonderful discovery when you come to it naturally down that windy path out of the jungle.

I remember seeing a friends map after they completed the game and most of it not being discovered. As a bit of an obsessive of this I was horrified. There’s so much cool stuff in the world you miss if you just mainline it.

If you haven’t done so already make sure you do Eventide island.

Lurein is great

My second playthrough on the Switch was definitely more in depth than my Wii U save, wanted to leave myself some new stuff alongside the DLC. Seeing this thread pop up makes me wonder how likely BoTW 2 actually has of releasing this year.

A very slim chance. My money would be near the fifth anniversary of the first's release.

I reckon it’s pretty slim too, plus this way they can release a compilation ala Mario 3D All Stars and then the big title next year.

Yeah I did Eventide first time round, loved it.

I thought I'd seen pretty much everything on my first go so it was great coming round the corner on the beach and seeing this little Moana settlement just chilling

I'm a bit worried I might not like the sequel as much as the original. I tried to have a second play through of the first during the summer, but ended up drifting away from me as it didn't grab me in the same way - turns out it was the joy of the discovery of the unknown which made me enjoy it so much first time around, which unfortunately didn't translate to my second play. I still found it to be an enjoyable game, but even just having the landscape be familiar lessened my experience as exploring random corners was very rewarding.

They're going to have to come up with a new world, surely? Surely? If they re-used the same Hyrule without some very significant twists, it would suggest that they'd missed the point of BotW1 - which doesn't feel likely.
