I've been playing mostly handheld on the switch and I've come across at least two of them that I can remember and they were strawberry floating awful. The movement just doesn't happen in an intuitive way, it's like it can't get calibrated properly even when you reset it.

Playing handheld

This, they were annoying when playing TV but not the end of the world, but playing handheld meant you could see the bloody screen half the time, which is helpful.

Exactly, viewing angle isn't even considered. It's very awkward (and basically rules out 180+ degree movements)

Unsure about anyone else, but I enjoyed the game too much to get annoyed with the gyro shrines. I accepted them for what they were and made the best of them.

Not played any handheld so it wasn't an issue on switch. On Wii U the only problem was I was using the pro controller, so for those I had to charge and keep the shitty tablet handy in case it was needed.

4th beast down. Hopefully I can start the DLC now (it's not told me I can yet).

I didn't really mind them, honestly.

It was also pretty funny how you could cheese the maze one for example.

To do this handheld I had to disconnect the joy-cons because otherwise you turn the whole console upside down and now the screen is facing the floor

At least I didn't attempt that one on the bus

Speaking of stupid Nintendo gooseberry fool on public transport. The other day I was playing Captain Toad on 3DS and had to blow at some stuff. But it wouldn't work because the train was loud enough to activate the microphone, so the platforms were permanently stuck floating at the end position for the whole journey, creating an impasse . My girlfriend was just laughing at me every time trying to blow to get the platforms to move DOWN and feeling very silly and confused. strawberry floating hell who thinks of these things.

Microphone blowing is only slightly less embarrassing than voice commands

I had something very similar on a flight to Mexico. It was pretty turbulent and I'd been resting my vita on the chair table, then a bit came up where you had to hold the vita to a strong light source to reveal something on a map (this was golden abyss). Trouble was it was quite dark in there, so I was saying the vita around in the air trying to get some light, which didn't work. In the end I had to go to one of the plane doors and hold the thing to the window, all the while being shoved aroind by turbulence. God only knows what people thought i was up to. Luckily it wasnt a flight to the US.

Started the champions ballad DLC last night, and one of the first new shrines uses motion controls

This chatter reminds me of Escape Plan on Vita, pretty fun puzzle game virtually ruined by the Vita's gimmicks. I wouldn't mind giving the PS4 version a try.

Has anyone experienced Wii U version and Switch version? I'm looking to get a Switch soon and having played Wii U version plenty, I'm wondering if there's a significant upgrade performance and graphic wise.

Graphically wise its a slight improvement, I’ve played plenty of both versions and without overanalysing screenshots I don’t recall any glaringly large differences between the two. Likewise with performance, after all the patches both are pretty good even in areas that struggled before the patches (well I think the Switch still had s a slight fps dips in Kakariko and Korok Forest), on the whole it is slightly better than the Wii U version and the big thing is you can play it handheld whereas the Wii U version you couldn’t (well you could via the game pad but that had pretty poor range) really. Saying that I never played either of the DLC on the Wii U version so I can’t comment on that aspect.

I've played the Wii U version to completion and am about 100 hours in to the switch one. The switch version is ever so slightly higher resolution, and is definitely smoother in towns.

I'd definitely buy it again, you may think you've seen all there is to see, but my second play through is even better than the first, as I've gone completely different directions and it all feels mostly fresh.

Class, cheers boys. Love the game so much I think a fresh playthrough would be a success.

I'd recommend getting the DLC for a fresh play, because it adds a lot of nice quality of life improvements, and there's a fair amount of extra stuff to find.

I beat 1 divine beast, never finished the game, and last played nearly a year ago. I'm thinking about getting back into this after the summer - is it worth starting again rather than trying to pick up all the strands?

I put 80 hours into the game and beat 2 Divine Beasts when it came out but took a break from it for a couple of years. I found that starting a new game was a good way to get back into the mechanics and the world is so large that you could also go off in a different direction to your first playthrough.

I didn't regret restarting the game, even though I put so much time into my other file, but I did stop again as Xenoblade Chronicles DE came out  I'm planning to start another playthrough at some point and start with the Divine Beasts that I didn't beat to vary the experience a bit more.

No I'd just say carry on. The game is so vast that starting that one bit won't make much of a difference, and you'll soon start to remember things.
