I've not found much use for the money outside of the fairy fountains if it's any help, not sure what else people use their rupees on past unlocking all 4?

There's also a horse fairy that wants a thousand rupees. But yeah, outside of that I just spend all my money on arrows. Wish you could craft them like in Horizon or something. Keep getting caught short :(

Well I've just got the 10000 rupee fairy to unlock and I'm on 8000 rupees and I've got about 150 pieces of meat I can cook to sell. I buy arrows all the time as well.

EDIT: Two orbs down. Just the Hinox orb to go... :dread: Does the game notice when you're doing particular things and then... stop you doing them? Had a Bokoblin shooting at me with a bow, so I stood just out of range and then collected the arrows, but after the fourth one every subsequent arrow just bounced away and disappeared. Disappointing.

I think the arrow thing was part of a patch to stop people from using an infinite arrow glitch.

Just add salt to 4 of anything for lots of money.

Also sell the gazillions of bokoblin horns and keese wings etc.

You can also quite easily make potions that sell for hundreds each. I can't remember if it's four monster parts and one critter, or four critters and one monster part, but make a ton of potions like that (rarer monster parts = more money) and you'll be swimming in money.

Yeah there are plenty of ways to make money by either cooking up food or potions. I rarely struggled for cash in this and ended up buying pretty much everything in the game even if I didn't need it just as a reason to use some up!

That said constantly cooking stuff up is a good way to make you realise just how terrible the inventory interface and user experience is - open inventory, locate items, add all the items, exit inventory, throw them on the fire wait/skip the cooking animation and annoying jingle, accept the dialog, rinse and repeat. Then once you have done that with all your ingredients, assuming you have enough space in your inventory to hold everything you have cooked (why they couldn't just stack items and let you hold loads :fp: ) you need to go to a shop and go through the tedium of the selling interface as well for every single item... again why not let me say I want to sell all of these things at once? Hurry the strawberry float up I want my strawberry floating rupees!! :x

I just didn't farm money from cooking at all and still had enough for all the fountains just from selling shiny rocks

True, rocks are a pretty good source of income as well. There are a few things that some of them are useful for beyond cash so I wouldn't necessarily suggest to people that they sell everything, but it's certainly a good source of rupees.

Taking down the Talus' mini bosses is also a good way of getting your hands on the shiny stuff!

Yeah, I've been doing a fair bit of mining, so I sold a bunch of rocks along with a few hundred moblin bits to push me over the edge of 10,000. Heading for the fairy fountain now.

(What's a Talus, too? :shifty: Are they the big rock monster things?)

Yeah there are several varieties of Talus, the stone/rock ones will drop a bunch of gems when you kill them and if you specifically target their shiny parts you get extra I believe.

I think all of them might drop gems actually but I can't recall for certain, the stone ones definitely do though!

I think they all drop gems don't they? Even the mini ones drop one (normally amber from my experience) when you blow them up.

Just finished Vah Medoh (well, just the boss to go). Then I guess I've only got one more divine beast before I can rinse the map for shrines. Is the "extra dungeon" in the DLC substantially better than the divine beasts have been? They're fun, but they're almost over too quickly.

(Also, would the DLC add extra stuff that I'd have been better off having before I'd got this far? :shifty: I know the thing that draws where you've been on the map would be pretty useful, but is there anything else?)

I've just done Vah Medoh as well, as it's my second play through I've been going region by region to clear all the shrines. Going to do the last couple in Tabatha? Where ever Rito Village is (music is stunning here) before heading north to Hebra where there is a lot of shrines.

As for the DLC, there's the new dungeon/story, trial of the sword (to permanently power up the master sword) and then mainly more clothing to collect, a few bits are useful but nothing is a must have to me.

Don't forget that completing the DLC dungeon will get you a motorbike that runs on monster parts

I wasn't going to spoil that surprise!

Only joking, I'd completely forgotten about the bike you get!

Anyway, I've got 3 shrines left to do in the Hebra region, love just walking round this region in the snow :)

This Master of the Wind shrine puzzle seems to be another one of those puzzles that you can only do in their very specific way. Drop out of the breeze onto the switch, and NOTHING HAPPENS. You have to touch the switch with your paraglider still out :dread:

Even if you could just drop onto it (after floating through the path of wind from beginning to end, of course) (which I think the game should allow), it would still be a puzzle with a very specific solution.

Thunderblight Ganon :dread: These bosses are so uninspired. I'm terrible at the dodge/flurry rush thing so it absolutely mullers me. Got a bit of a rhythm in the end but I'd already used up all my fairies :slol: Second time lucky, maybe

Just cooked a whole load of Mighty Meals. He gon' regret messing with me 8-) Link will be HENCH
