I'm glad it's not just me :slol: I've got the first part down, but I want that last chest to get the icon on the map.

Finally made it Zora's Domain! First fight with a Lynel and one attack takes seven hearts off me

Not sure I like this ridiculous damage system. Get me some Shock Arrows then I can strawberry float off

EDIT: Also he's firing arrows in the wrong direction and they're still crashing from the sky almost on top of me... How's he managing that?

EDIT 2: Am now inside a big elephant 8-)

I don't think the idea is to actually defeat that Lynel, it's there to teach you to sneak around, well in part anyway. I tried to kill it but I got defeated, repeatedly

They do seem to have a ridiculously good aim on them as well.

Yeah you don't need to defeat that Lynel. But you can cook up 3 ironshrooms and some salt to get that damage down.

I loved the damage system. It felt so epic having to hide from, sneak around and run away from these mighty enemies until the mid-late game. I remember the feeling of taking down my first Guardian . Even now I'll struggle with a Lynel :slol:.

First time I entered Zora's Domain I came at it from across the lake the elephant was under. I tried to land on top of the trunk and missed, and when I entered the water the strawberry floating thing screamed at me and I nearly dropped my Switch in fright.

Just made it to Goron City

Heading off to find that fella who's got the boss's painkillers. Got to the cannons, bombed them, ran through all my powers, tried pushing them, couldn't move it.

Turns out I've got to hit them with a weapon? That was literally the last thing I'd think of.

That's one of the key things that undermines a lot of what this game does so well for me. For so much of the game it's all "empowerment" and "player choice" using systems that work logically together, then it will stonewall you with a challenge that you have to solve the one way the designers wanted you to.

Completely shatters the experience for me.

I'm playing this again now, doing the Champions' Ballad DLC.
I'd started it earlier and got through the Zora part of it. I let it sit for a while because of how difficult I found that part's boss fight (in retrospect it only took me two or three tries, so I guess I'm just a big wuss?).
Anyway, done the Rito part and have started the Goron bit.

I really like the pre-boss fight challenges to uncover the shrines. Well, finding the challenges I mean through looking at the map. The challenges themselves haven't been all that special so far.
I do kind of wish the little maps on the stones were rotated a bit to make it harder, though.

The final part of the DLC better be as good as I've heard it is.

Dusted this off for a couple of hours last night, and I forgot just how much fun dicking around in this game is.

Honestly, if the next game had an improved home mechanism, and things to do in inns, I would call it my new favourite ever game.

It was one of the first things I tried so I had zero issue (the hammer propped up next to the cannon is supposed to be what gives it away), but then I watched my girlfriend completely ignore the cannons and go over to the blocked cave on foot and it was pretty frustrating.

That and the final ascent of death mountain are probably the two things in the game you're quite likely to do "wrong", which is a shame. I don't think the design is at fault for having a specific solution, I just think it isn't signposted and prompted well enough in game.

I just saw the sledgehammer and thought "another one? My pockets are full!" :slol:

Made it to the divine beast now. Is that the death mountain ascent you're talking about?

I liked how you didn't have to do that section even remotely stealthily.

Stealth sections are bobbins, this one was at least bearable.

Yeah that's what I was talking about, if you miss a cannon the game does nothing to tell you so you get to the next one and think "now what?"

Ooooh, gotcha. Yeah, I can see that being a bit annoying if you missed a cannon. Luckily the Sentry's seem to lead you reasonably well from one to the next.

Again I was fine, but my girlfriend missed the penultimate cannon so got to the top of the path and was stumped as to what to do. It even confused me for a minute as I didn't know why the divine beast wasn't there

Been back playing this today, just exploring and completing shrines but I've found myself the best horse (stat wise) in all my time playing. 5 stamina, 4 strength and speed. Also upgraded a good chunk of my armour to level 3 as well. Now I've got maximum weapon slots I'm not finding myself looking for Korok seeds as much, got 9 bow slots and 6 shields (which I never seem to go through anyway).

Still trying the trial of the sword as well, can get to room 8 in the middle trials now..... Think I'm going to leave it till I have more than 13 hearts!
