Have you got a car charger for yours or did you have a battery pack? Mine died after about three hours in the car the other day

For fans of this game and Zelda in general the Creating a Champion special book package is well worth checking out.

It’s the single best piece of Zelda merchandise I’ve ever owned (admittedly I don’t have much) it eclipses Hyrule Historia in leaps and bounds. It’s such a wonderful piece of gaming history, it provides a fantastic look at what went into the huge undertaking that was making this game, contains loads and loads of background detail that was thought about for the world. From the bits I’ve read so far it doesn’t feel as ‘made up on the spot’ as Hyrule Historia (not that I think that’s what happened) it brings the world alive again and some of the art is just fantastic. Think I might get the map framed too, it is beautiful but, rather big though.

Following on from above I’ve recently discovered Zeltiks videos. They’re really good for a deeper look into the lore of this game, he’s easy to listen to and the production has a really nice documentary feel to it. He’s done two so far on specific events from the backstory of BOTW, taking information from the games story, NPCs and extra detail held in this book. I’d really recommend checking them out.

I agree on the map, it's stunning and I'm tempted to get it framed as well, love the photo and spirit orb you get with it as well! Having a great time reading it

I'm struggling a bit with hoarding. I don't like hoarding but I don't want to sell all of my stuff in case it's useful for something important. Is there any reason why I shouldn't sell all my opals etc.?

Gems and minerals are used for some armour upgrades, can’t recall which exactly though. I tend to keep all the minerals and just sell monster parts (but try to keep 50 of each on me) and cook up meat skewers to make a quick bit of money if that’s what you’re short on.

I’ve discovered a fun new way to play this after 500 hours.

Take a photo of a treasure chest and set it to the Sheikah Scanner. Sends you off on all kinds of weird adventures to locations you won’t have experienced before.

I’m on my fourth playthrough of this now and am doing a 3 heart run so far though I don’t think I’ll actually keep it going. Nearly got the fully upgraded stamina meter. Have spent a lot of time in the south east which is one of my lesser known areas. Made it to Goron City just now and am liking the Death Mountain environment a bit more.

Wow I imagine a 3 heart challenge is certainly that, a challenge!

I’m still only on my second play through, 107 shrines down and just the Gerudo region just to finish off shrine wise, once I’ve got all the shrines and divine beasts done I’m going to finish off the Trial of The Master Sword, then I might try and mop up most of the side quests before doing the Champions Ballad. Then all there will be left to do is to best Ganon again, still not even going to attempt all the Korok seeds.

Do you allow yourself to use potions and food to gain yellow hearts?

I don’t think I’ve used potions to boost heart count so far but I have slept in plush beds for the minor bump. It’s not a particularly serious run through I’m just going over some stuff I wanted to see again. I just beat Vah Rudania which was piss easy even with 3 hearts. I doubt I’ll beat the game again fully though.

Awesome thanks. Yeh I just want more money really so I can buy all the clothes I want, etc.

This game is just amazing. After well over 500 hours I can’t believe how I still find. New dialogue, new cutscenes, perspectives of Hyrule I’ve not seen before. I’m trying to find a chest that the game is telling me is in Hateno, can’t see it for the life of me. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t, but I thought lighting all the blue flame torches might spawn it so I bring a blue torch into the village and low and behold the children start chasing me round. It’s strawberry floating adorable.

It's probably underground or underwater. Also you can cheat by "scanning" objects with magnesis (only metal chests) or Stasis as it highlights stuff.

There is a chest in one of the hateno buildings, you have to fly to a door to get it.

I think there are a few chests that are unobtainable in the game, I certainly recall coming across one that was buried but did not respond to magnesis. In a game this vast its also likely that there will be a few objects misplaced inside geometry etc.

Had a bit of time to spend on this wonderful game again today, all 120 shrines are now complete!

Got the Thunderhelm as well as getting a few of the other side quests out of the way. Next up is finishing off the Trial of the Master Sword

Finished the three heart run. Practice with the game really does wonders for your ability.

First time I played it I thought it was easily the hardest Zelda ever. Think on this go through I maybe only saw the Game Over screen a dozen times and most of those were from falls. Once you get good with the shield deflect you really start to feel like a boss. I don’t think I could do a three heart run on any other Zelda.

Still the best game ever made :wub:
