3 hearts is a good effort!

Do you plan on trying the two dlc packs with only 3 hearts as well? Some of the master sword trial would definitely be challenging in my opinion, hardest levels I’ve done so far (currently stopped partway through the final trials) have been the dark ones at the middle part of the middle trials, the one with all the Lizalfos probably being the most annoying.

Edit, the last levels of the master sword trial are a bit crap aren’t they? Icy conditions with no warm clothing provided? Sure I’ve got spicy peppers and a heat spear but still lol. Same with the frost talus, I’ve got nothing to melt the blocks with to open the air vents. I get it’s meant to be harder than the normal game but so far this just seems more annoying than hard?

Isn't it impossible with three hearts? You'd need 13 minimum to even pull the Master Sword out.

You can just get the stamina upgrades then use the statue in Hateno to temporarily switch them to hearts, get the Master Sword, then switch them back.

Good point, I’d forgotten about that being a requirement.

In all my time with BoTW I don’t think I’ve actually used that statue once, very useful for runs like yours though!

The Champions Ballad really is a bit pants as DLC goes. I remember thinking it was just ok on my first run but for replayability it’s pretty rubbish.

This is my first time playing the Champions Ballad through but I won’t lie, I was expecting something a bit different? So far its been, go here, kill enemies, do shrine and so on. Not that it’s bad but after doing similar for the rest of the game I’d ave liked to see something slightly different.

Did you not think the one hit kill challenge was quite different?

The extra divine beast and final boss are the highlights though, especially the boss which is actually good and the best in the game. Also once you've completed it the bike is great fun

It was a little I suppose, but it just meant you needed to be a little more careful rather than anything vastly different.

I am looking forward to getting the bike to traverse Hyrule on. I’ve heard good things about the last boss as well so I’m hoping that turns out to be good.

Edit, its actually picked up a bit, I’m enjoying see some more of each of the champions and how they met Zelda before Link comes on the scene, the boss battles are quite good as well with the limitations they put on the player.

I completely forgot about the ___.

Maybe I can go halves with my partner since she has come into some money and it's probably her GOTG.

Just finished my second run of this (with all DLC done), I can't wait to see what they actually come up with next to try and top Breath of The Wild.

If you’re not ready to leave the world yet I’d get hold of the Creating a Champion book. A really fantastic accompaniment to the background, development and lore of the game. Best Piece of Nintendo merchandise I’ve ever seen.

I’ve already got myself a copy of that, it really is a wonderful book. The extras are really nice as well if you go for the more expensive version.

This really is something special, I've never played a game that makes aimless exploring so fun and rewarding, the world is incredibly vibrant. I haven't played anything else since Christmas and I've still only completed 50 shrines and 2 of the divine beasts! It's beautifully designed as well, perfect for long stints or short bursts when you have a spare 30 minutes. I've always enjoyed Zelda games but I rarely finish them because I usually get stuck in a dungeon somewhere, I love how they have turned the dungeons into 100+ mini puzzles instead, for me that is the perfect way to experience Zelda magic but with none of the frustration.

It's lovely to be experiencing it for the first time! Even if I never buy another Switch game, it was worth the price just for this experience.

My Mrs has been playing this on and off for a while now. She's never played a Zelda game and is really enjoying it

I've started this game 3 times now (once on the WiiU, twice on the Switch), and put over 30 hours in each time, but I've finally reached the conclusion that it really isn't for me. I just can't get on with it at all - it really is one of the biggest disappointments I've had in gaming, having absolutely loved all the previous Zeldas. Look out for a cheap copy appearing on eBay soon...

It took 90 hours to decide you don't like the game? Goddamn :P
