Played a decent chunk of the OOT SEED last night.

A few observations that might make things simpler for anyone else giving it a shot.

Bombchus are not in logic. So the game doesn't expect you to use them to open up areas locked behind bombs. On the tracker you'll see a lot of areas light up yellow if/when you find the Bombchus. While you can use them to open up those areas, the randomizer isn't expecting you to look in those places until you have the bomb-bag.

On the bottom left of the map tracker, you will see two checks marked as "Child" and "Adult". If both are Green then it means you have access to both times.

On Adult you may see a Green check appear on Links House for a Cow but when you get there, no Cow is present. The Cow only appears once you have completed Malons Obstacle Course. Not sure why the tracker places it there early.

Malon doesn't seem to appear on the tracker when she is waiting for her Dad to return from the Castle. She's to the North of Hyrule Castle and you can get her item as soon as you leave Kokiri Forest.

There are areas you can warp to, that you cannot get out of. If you find yourself stuck in a location, Save the game, then reset the console/emulator and you'll appear back at Links House or the Temple of Time.

Thanks for the tips Devlin! Really looking forward to streaming that seed tomorrow evening (from about 7.30!).

Also I finished my first ever LttP Randomiser with a final time of 12:29! Thanks Again to Dev and Cora for guiding me through that - will practice it by myself and aim for a goal of "finish in one sitting".

Good stuff man.

You gotten any further yet?

The very first segment up to the end of the Deku Tree is fairly straightforward thankfully, so gives you a small taste of things.

Once you get out there it really opens up.

I'm a wee bit further on and I'm enjoying it, but it can test the patience a little. Having to go to Temple of Time everytime you want to switch ages is a pain in the arse.

Anyone else made a start on it?

Finding OoT much more difficult to get a handle on than ALTTP so far!

Streamed my first 3 hours of this today! I'm enjoying it a lot!

Got the ocarina toward the end of my session alongside some useful songs (eponas, Time and Zelda's Lullaby) which has opened up a few more checks for me including Adult Link.

Will carry on with this tomorrow afternoon on my channel.

I've now picked up the ocarina as well, and the song of time. I'm gonna stay as child link for a little while, but I used the bolero of fire thinking I could get out of death mountain crater to do some checks and I can't, and I'm now stuck in a death loop.

Save in the game and quit (reset). You'll reload at Links House or Temple of Time.

Bastard, I loaded a save state.

Only lost a few minutes though so I'm not that bothered. I also lost my shield so I'm glad I still have that.

Anyhow, I might stream a wee bit of progress onto the GRCade channel at some stage today - had to stop for the moment to get some work/housework done but have been enjoying it so far!

I dunno but I finally got a bomb bag so I'm away to plunder Death Mountain. Don't need the egg for that!

I've not found it yet.

There's a very good chance that it's not required at all.

Without too many spoilers after Kokiri it seems to start off quite bitty, with an item here and then another item there, but there's a definite point where things will start to open up. You just need to unravel things a bit for it to happen.

Just found this page which explains how a lot of the logic in the game works.

https://wiki.ootrandomizer.com/index.php?title=Logic

For example I didn't know that to get Sheik to appear in Kakariko (Where normally you're taught the Nocturn of Spirit song) you need all three Stones.

Same for getting Sheik to appear in Temple of Time you have to have the Forest Medallion (Normally from beating Forest Temple).

Might be useful if you can't figure out how to activate certain checks.

Streamed a few more hours of this this afternoon - definitely felt like I'd hit a point where I couldn't progress any further but maybe I needed to dip into a dungeon to get a chest from there.

Anywho asked Ben where he got the bombs as I was really stumped and used the bombchus to get them. Not sure how I was meant to progress in logic tbh!

It's a bit of a trek to unravel, but bomb bag was in Ice Cavern for me.

Bought a blue flame from the potion shop in Hyrule Castle Town, used that to defrost King Z then into Ice Cavern.

No out of logic checks needed.

Ooooh! Think I must not have looked at the tracker hard enough, or glossed over some orange squares.

Good to know for future runs!

Another "quirk" I've found with the tracker.

Whenever I load my saved state on it, it always seems to have removed my Ocarina and given me Magic Beans for some reason.
As far as I can tell that's the only weirdness, but just a heads up incase you guys are seeing that as well.

2 medallions left to go! I might do my Sunday night stream during the day tomorrow and wrap it up there (Assuming I'm able to).
