Pretty much. It's gonna be ALTTP then OOT to start, so we'll see how it goes after that.

Had loads of fun with the randomiser, would definitely recommend it to anyone on the fence.

The tracker gives you a lot more information than you would usually have on the world map and that kind of "makes up" for the weirdness of the random items and makes it pretty accessible. It's definitely not easy-peasy but it's not impossible either, it's an achievable challenge! (Particularly with Devlin popping up with the occasional pro strat :toot:  )

I was playing it for about 5 hours straight, it flew by!

Had a lot of fun watching you give it a go - thanks for streaming!

Been inspired to give a seed ago tonight and I'll also try streaming it (my first ever stream woo). I'll do a different seed as I watched a large proportion of Karl's so I would have an advantage (ie don't do Tower of Hers).

Started an OOTR today. Pretty funny and fun so far. Found the Megaton Hammer in place of the Slingshot lmao. But I was stuck unable to complete dodongo's cavern or deku tree because no slingshot. Eventually a deku scrub sold me one in the Lost Woods. Every chest is exciting tho to see what you're gonna get.

To be completely fair to you, the seed is an especially tough one as well. Hope to see you finish it soon!

Nice one.

It's really weird learning a new randomiser. As I'm so used to knowing ALTTP inside out, not knowing how to get everything check is quite jarring. But that's part of the fun. :D

Yeah you were doing really well last night Karl. Like Cora says, it's been a reasonably tough seed, especially for someone just coming back to the game. It's not been very generous with the Sword, and Tunic upgrades which is a shame. But you've made good progress on it. Certainly don't worry about the time. The first step is to just get through a seed. The next seed you do, will have the experience you gained from this one, so you'll be faster. And then faster on the next one and so on and so on.

EDIT: Oh and I'm looking forward to yours Aayl.

I'm streaming myself tonight, but I'll try and pop on before it.

The one good thing about this seed for beginners is that there's no Trimex fight. That particular part of the game is horrible for first time or returning players!

Well I was enjoying OoTR but it's just froze on me and I've lost a ton of progress. Bummer.

Just did a Link to the Past randomiser after watching Aaron doing one earlier and got the biggest stinker I've ever managed to go through. 203/216 checks had to be done, and I picked up literally every item. 3 and a half hours.

Really enjoyed my first go at me first ever randomiser yesterday! I'm sure it was frustrating to watch for the more experienced players out there but I had a lot of fun learning the game via being directed about.

Will continue that seed via my stream tomorrow afternoon, about 1/2ish.

I've been enjoying my terrible first attempt at the LttP randomiser a lot -will definitely give it another go in a month or so to see if I can improve!

Also think I'll try and finish said first attempt off tonight ready for some ZOOTR action on Friday.

Ok, so with aayl being so very near the end of his first ALTTP Seed (Great job man) and with my previous OOT Seed having been abandoned due to tracking issues, it's time for us to move onto our first group OOT Seed.

Ocarina of Time - SEED 1

You can generate the ROM and set your cosmetic and SFX settings at the link below.
I would recommend going to the Cosmetic page and setting "Default Targeting Option" to "Switch" instead of "Hold". This means you don't need to hold Z everytime you lock-on.
You can also turn off or change Navi noises in the SFX menu.

https://ootrandomizer.com/seed/get?id=691613

It will ask you for an OOT ROM as well. You can find one here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tlkdv1scgsedk ... 9.z64?dl=0

In order to avoid issues with getting the tracker set up for this (It's a bit more complex due to the number of options), I've set it up myself and then saved it.

Make sure you have the "OoT Randomizer Map Tracker" package by Hamsda installed in Emotracker (3rd one under the OOT section in the package list).

In Emotracker click on the Cog icon, then Application-File-Open and browse to the save file I created.

You can find that save here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xxzrh2ae9bx5f ... .json?dl=0

If you wish to use a different tracker package, or set up the tracker yourself, you can find the seed metadata here.

Important SEED Notes

Here are some things to be aware of going into the SEED.

Forest is CLOSED - This means you need to access and beat the Deku Tree dungeon before you can leave Kokiri Forest area. You have access to Kokiri Village, Lost Woods, Sacred Forest Meadow and Deku Tree.
Kakariko Gate is CLOSED - You need to find and provide Zelda's letter to the guard in Kakariko village to open the gate and get access to Happy Mask Shop.
Door of Time is closed until you play the Song of Time (You can use either of the Ocarinas).
Zora's Fountain is closed until you provide Ruto's Letter to King Zora.
Gerudos Fortress will have four carpenters to save with an item at the end. Until you find the Gerudo Membership Card the Guards in the fortress will still chase and catch you. Membership card can be anywhere.
Access to Ganon's Tower requires 6 dungeon medallions and all 6 Trials within are required to get to Ganondorf.
Songs can be found anywhere an item is found
Playing Epona's song for a cow will provide an item
Kokiri Sword has been shuffled (But will appear early in this seed as it's needed for Deku Tree).
Ocarina's have been shuffled.
The Egg you get from Malon has been shuffled. You need this to wake Talon and visit Zelda and to get Malon/Talon back to Lon Lon and to get Saria to go to the Forest Temple entrance.
Magic Beans are shuffled as well. Bean seller will have an item for 60 Rupees first time you meet him (then will sell bean top ups I believe).
Bean planting locations are noted on the tracker so you can keep track of ones that you have planted. Some will lead to items later on.
MediGoron and Desert Wasteland Carpet Salesmans items (Biggoron Sword and Bombchus) are in the item mix. They will now sell a random item.
All keys, maps and compasses are to be found in their appropriate dungeons, though they will be mixed about inside them.
There are rewards for getting 10 & 20 Skulltulas. No reward for 30, 40 or 50.
Players will start with the largest Wallet in the game and the Stone of Agony. Rupee hunting is gooseberry fool and I kept finding 200 Rupees when I only had the small wallet. Stone of Agony enables rumble and will allow you to find hidden grottos that can be accessed by bombing, or playing the Song of Storms. If your controller has no rumble, then it will show a small icon in the bottom left of the screen.
The D-Pad can be used to quickly access Ocarina's and Boots. Especially useful for quickly toggling boots on and off.
You always start with one free Medallion/Spiritual Stone. This is marked in the "FREE" slot within the tracker. This time it is the Zora Sapphire and I've already saved it on the tracker.
Some minigame phases have been skipped. So if a game has two prizes (Dampe race and Gerudo Horseback Archery) it is possible to get both prizes first time instead of having to do them twice.
Big Poe Target has been set at 5. There's no option to set that on the tracker, which always wants 10 Big Poes. Just be aware that once you have 5 Big Poes you can claim the item from the Hyrule Market Guard House.
FINALLY - Make sure and speak to the gossip stones, who will provide hints about item locations. It may give you a specific location for something, or it might tell you an area is on "the way of the hero" (Means there's an essential item there) or it might tell you a certain area is foolish (I.e there's strawberry float all you need there).

I THINK that's everything.

Yeah, OOT rando is complex.

Any questions just ask and I'll do what I can to answer, though I am new to this randomizer myself.

Have fun guys!

No rush with this one as it'll take us all a wee while to get to grips with this one I think. Tracker especially can be tricky here.

Devlin thanks so much!

For both guiding me through ALttP Rando with the patience of a Saint (along with Cora!) and taking the time to painstakingly set this up and provide a really essential beginner's guide that will take a lot of frustration out of it for us.

Knowing stuff like only needing the song of Time + any ocarina is vital knowledge for an OoT randomiser (the randomiser uses the same logic checks as vanilla but vanilla uses logic shortcuts. - e.g. While the story bangs on about the door of Time only opening with the three stones + ocarina of Time + 3 spirit stones the game actually only checks for song of Time as you can't get that without the others usually!).

Really appreciate all the time and effort you've put into this Dev - I can't wait to get stuck in to the OoT randomiser as it's why I wanted to start streaming in the first place! That tracker looks like a right complicated beast so thanks again for providing it for us.

Will get ALttP finished off tonight then will move onto this Friday evening from about 7. Obviously if you're planning on having a go at this you probably shouldn't watch too much of my stream (if any!).

Interested to see how this goes. If I like it I think I'll try and get better at OoT Randomisers, but likely with the Triforce Hunt variant as Go Mode in this game is rather long and repetitive (but I want to do at least one Ganon kill so happy we're starting with this). And will likely swap it out with LttP randomiser practice too!

Thanks again Dev! Very appreciative as always!

I may try streaming a bit of this from the GRCade channel if I get the chance, but equally I might just do it as a standard run and not stream at all. Looking forward to it!

Okay in preparation for Friday I have downloaded the randomised OOT ROM to make sure it works - I needed to update Project 64 to the latest version but got it all working fine.

I randomised the cosmetics and have a lovely pink kokiri tunic which I'm happy about.

Think I'm gonna give up on my OoT seed. Running out of chests/events and getting so many adult link items instead of what I actually need. I've found 4 or 5 items that are "You are a FOOL!", one of which looked like a zora scale which would have actually been useful. Not to mention the random freezes that happen, just cba.

Ah sorry to hear that Jezo - definitely sounds like ZOOTRS can be a frustrating experience. If you ain't having fun no point forcing yourself through it and all that!
