Bought a blue flame from the potion shop in Hyrule Castle Town, used that to defrost King Z then into Ice Cavern.

No out of logic checks needed.

FYI I got a quiver upgrade in there. The progressive upgrades must switch between the different possibilities even in the same seed?

Are you sure because they shouldn't. I just checked the Spoiler Log for IC and it definitely lists Bomb Bag.

Does the string of icons at the seed link match what you have on your ROM?

Yep. It's definitely the right seed because I've picked up all the progression items in the same place you have IIRC, but I definitely didn't get that item, in that place. I do have two of them now though.

Done a bit more off-stream this morning. Went through the Gerudo stuff, but got a bit confused in the Gerudo training dungeon and missed a few chests due to not using my keys correctly and not having the Megaton Hammer or Light Boots, so I'll likely need to go back there. Finally got the Cucco for Zelda as well!

And done.

I think that took me around 10 hours?

Can't say for certain as it doesn't give you any kind of stats at the end. :|

But I really enjoyed that. Last two dungeons especially were a bit different because of the gear I had.

The water temple was hilariously short. Rattled through it in less than ten minutes, though I didn't get near picking up all the items.

Yeah me too.

I wasn't quite as fast. Went to use the first Ocarina point to change the water level and it didn't work so I ended up exploring a bit more. Turns out I was just ever so slightly too far away from it.

Then immediately got the Big Key and went straight to beat the boss.

Was my last medallion as well so I was able to confidently ignore the rest of the dungeon.

Completion spoilers.
I'd held Water Temple to last in the hope that the Blue Tunic would turn up at some point, but it wound up being the first thing I found in Ganon's Castle.
Ganon fight was reasonably easy, but the very last phase seemed to take forever with the Biggoron Sword so I switched back to Master Sword and 2/3 hits more and he was done. Not sure if changing sword made any difference, but it seemed to.

So while you guys wrap up your OOT time playthroughs over the next few days, what is everyone thinking for the next game?

Do you want to do another ALTTP or OOT seed, or do you want to try something else like Links Awakening or Minish Cap?

I've put a poll in the thread, so make your choice!

Tried to give this a go but I can't install emotracker. Every time I try I get an error that the setup files are corrupted, even after multiple downloads. Any ideas? :(

PM'd you.

I'll be posting a new ALTTP Seed at the weekend as that seems to be the will of the people.

This time I'll be generating an open seed. This means that you will start at either Link's House or the Sanctuary and you don't need to do the Castle Escape sequence to open up the rest of the game.

Swords will not be assured either, meaning you will find them out in the world and may need to do a portion of the game without one.

Yikes, I wasn't expecting anyone to watch. That was embarrassing!
No context thread

I need to work out how to set up my screen so I can see everything. The game, the tracker and chat
Also need to get my headphones and mic on and setup some sort of display for Twitch properly
Then I need to work out how the tracker works and what I should be doing!

Just a few things!

Something that might be of use (And this is for everyone who plays and tracks on a single screen) is an app I use called Spacedesk - https://spacedesk.net/

Basically it allows you to turn a phone or tablet into an extra monitor. You run the server on the main PC and then the client app on your target device. Once it's up and running windows treats it like any other additional monitor.

I use it when I'm streaming from my couch as it means I can mirror my screen over the network onto my laptop.

Might be useful if you want to play the game on a laptop and have the tracker/streaming set up on an iPad or something.

I started giving Ocarina a go yesterday. It's fun - I've had a Zelda 'itch' for a little while and it's a refreshing way to experience a game I'm very familiar with. I've put some of my journey in a spoiler box, though not sure anyone reading this thread is in danger of having anything ruined really.

So Malon kindly gave me Deku Seeds instead of the egg. Unable to wake Talon, I headed to Kakariko where I received Bombchu's for rescuing the cuccoos - dead handy. I used a couple opening grottos and things and then had a thought, I can get to Dodongo's Cavern via the woods without needing Zelda's letter. This wasn't as successful as I'd hoped it would be - although I did make it, there are so many bombable walls and I only have a few bombchus, I'm not going to make any real progress here before running out.

So instead I took my last couple of 'chus and opened the pathway to Zora's domain. Thankfully the seed seller sold me a Fairy Ocarina for 60 rupees! I already found a couple of songs in random places, luckily including Zelda's lullaby and Saria's song, which opened Zora's Domain and allowed access to Darunia. Neither of these gave me any useful rewards - but no matter, I soon got lucky and found the Song of Time in a grotto.

This is where I've hit a wall unfortunately. My next move was to try becoming adult Link, and in the cutscene in the Temple of Time after growing up, Sheik became stuck in a dialogue loop. :( A very quick search suggests I'm not alone in this and it's a problem with Project 64 - anyone else had anything similar?

It's a shame but I enjoyed what I played. I should also say I did have some issues using the tracker and have ended up just using it as a reference rather than it using it properly. I might try fiddling with it some more if I start another run.

Glad to see you giving it a go man.

PJ64 can be a weird one. I tend to use the Retroarch cores for N64 emulation these days so might be worth trying that next time.
And the tracker of OOT can take a bit of getting used to. I'm still trying to figure it all out myself!

Very similar story and progress to me! Fortunately I didn't get that Sheik glitch though - sounds super annoying.

Gonna be continuing this on my stream tonight.

I had this when I first played through all those years ago on the N64:
I've since discovered
It's not possible to defeat Ganon with the Biggoron sword.
First time through I was hacking for ages and ages with that thing, changed back to the Master Sword, one hit later and it was all over.

Yeah that would explain that then. Once you get the MS back you have to use it.
