Given they release BOTW on Wii U and switch I would expect the same if there is to be a new Switch.

Play with chippy frames etc. on Switch or get a Switch 2.

They really have shown so little of this so far that my foolish hope is there is a genuine reason for that - the game is going to feature another very different setting than what we have seen so far and they are just trying to keep that under wraps.

If it really is just "BOTW plus some floating islands" then yeah, colour me :|

It's clearly not going to be BotW + floaty islands.

BotW sold strawberry floating gangbusters, they're not going to piss that away of a half-arsed sequel. It may not be everything people are hoping for but I'm certain there's something they're holding back.

I know I started the ball rolling on this, but worrying it's gonna be that bad is kind of preposterous.

I agree. erection points for concern trolling required I think. And yes, I know what the filter is going to do with that statement. But this is serious :capnscotty:

If it’s Hyrule from BotW, I’m fully expecting it to be a ‘10 years have passed’ and the world will be built up, full of life, Hyrule Castle being re-opened with a huge Castle Town with bustling Market.

As well as the Sky I’m hoping for Underwater/underground areas as well, finding a hidden temple at the bottom of a lake or something.

Life didn't exactly build up in the 100 year timeline of the last game so how much development we could expect in 10 years is hard to be optimistic about. Maybe the people of hyrule are happy to live in like 3 little villages for all time!

Well it didn’t build up because of Calamity Ganon and Guardians knocking about.

After the first trailer I can’t see there not being very significant underground sections.

I feel like these are two opposite ends of the spectrum. One is stirring up negativity that I'm pretty sure is needless. It's Nintendo, they've spent 6 years on it: it's not going to be a simple rehash. The other I think is setting yourself up for disappointment.

What I took away from the trailer is, the ground's going to look not dissimilar to BotW's, and the sky's going to be properly filled with stuff. How somebody can see a trailer like that, where you end up on a metal bird that to me suggests seamless free flight over and through a sky-scattered Zelda overworld, and come out with some of the grim-faced takes this thread has seen so far baffles me. Get some optimism in you! :capnscotty: (Apart from Milner - maybe dial that optimism back a bit. :shifty: )

I hope there is verticality in both directions. Going upwards to explore but also some actual dungeons to delve into as well. I really really enjoyed BOTW but I did miss some proper Zelda dungeons.

Thanks for cutting off the optimistic part of my post to serve your agenda, real mature.

I could've looked further back through the topic to find people who only shared your pessimism, but "my foolish hope" ain't exactly sunshine and rainbows now is it. :capnscotty:

If this game has the same Hyrule just with a Skyloft hang over the top I will be bitterly disappointed

I refuse to believe that so my optimism remains :toot:

I’m a lifelong pessimist, but given how good BotW was (for me at least), I can’t imagine this being a dull retread of the same thing with no interesting new ideas.
I don’t think we need to worry about this being a Majora’s Mask situation.
