Apart from Wind Waker has Zelda had a personality in any other Zelda? It's only this and Wind Waker I can think of her having one.

Skyward Sword? As much as I'm not a fan of that game compared to the other 3D Zelda games, it's story was probably one of it's strongest points.

Yes. All of them. But in varying ways. TP Zelda is very stoic and noble. She falls on her own sword to protect her kingdom. OOT Zelda is a mischievous, playful girl who has to grow up far too quickly. SS one is just bursting with passion and optimism. Incredibly brave. The end credits with her.    :( BOTW Zelda grates with me. Not sure if its how its presented or written or acted. Or a combination. She certainly has a personality. But I don't have to like her for her to be effective. Just not sure she is. I'll have to watch it all back at some point.

Clearly she's very forgettable in other games.

I still have a lot to do in this game, but I still personally hold OOT as the best Zelda game I've played at the moment. BOTW is still a fantastic though, make no mistake about that. But there are are few things now that feel tired. I'm not that big a fan of the shrines at all. But the exploration and sights to see are wonderful. Combat is great but I would prefer to hold onto weapons I like or at least repair them. Still have plenty to do though as I say so opinions could change. I have three divine beasts still to do and many many shrines if I can bare to do them all.

Watching the end credits now. As far spectacle goes...... HOLY MOLEY. Did get a bit of butterflies in my gut on the way up to the top. Might have been the pizza I ate though.
It's a bit..... Abrupt isn't it? Post credits scene..... awkward. Thought the first phase of the fight was a bit of a mess. Took a lot of damage. Some setting myself on fire trying to glide. In the end I just reflected back the shots and smashed him over and over. Felt like to me it lacked something of its own identity. A mechanism that made it stand out and was satisfying to figure out. But then I think that's been the problem with most of the boss fights. The second phase looked awesome. But was simple. Would have been ok if the first had been stronger.

One things for sure. Ganon is a complete personality vacuum in this.

Not sure. Not sure.

EDIT- oh and 79.73%

I never figured out how to reflect the second phase (where he has magma armour) shots. I figured that was what you were supposed to do, but I guess my timing was off. I guess I would have got it eventually, but I realised that the, err, Gerudo magic lightning spin-attack & Goron shield parry also broke through his magma armour, so they made pretty short work of him.

Got a strange relationship going with this at the moment. It's amazing and while the lack of dungeons drags it down in my mind, it's still a 10 out of 10 game. I feel like I should go wrap it up tonight, but then it'll be over and I don't want that either.

Can someone tell me, as non spoilery as possible, if the reward for doing all the shrines is worth it or just a nice to have?

Nice to have. I like it a lot but you don't need it.

I'd forgotten that was even a phase in the fight. I just sort of did the same things and stuff. Wait for the beep and hit A and hope it reflects the shot. Then go in and spank him.

A few screens of the final steps of my journey.

SPOILERS

I wanted to go all the way with Jawa.....
But it seemed the game wouldn't let me. :( We stormed the gates together! (I actually opened them into Jawas face. :shifty:  )

Climbing Hyrule Castle was epic. With some epic views. EPIC.
I think I prefer both Ganons Tower in OOT and Hyrule Castle in TP though. Mainly down to the complete lack of puzzles in this version. Its an amazing setting for the end of BOTW. Just a shame it runs poorly on Wii U and it doesn't really introduce anything new. Beyond the turrets. Also by this point I'm so fed up with the normal enemies that its lost something to.

Nearly there :datass:

Might try and do a drawing or painting from this. :datass:

Finally Ganon shows his face!
Or does he? Really dunno what to make of this design. Felt like some kind of Dead Space/Bloodborne mash up. Probably the closest thing to a skulltula in the game.
Image

I tried a "Denster" shot at the end. For critical damage.
It wasn't super effective. :(

Going to take a break then slowly try to get 100%. One day I shall come back..... https://youtu.be/Um5Cn5eHsGo?t=53s now imagine if I'd called the horse Susan

Took me ages to get this too, luckily I had a picture so could just wander around with the shiekah sensor constantly searching for one.

I eventually found one just prior to the bridge with the blue hinox on the way into Gerudo region.
