91 shrines down and plenty of other stuff still to do. I just hope I don't lose interest now that the main story is done.

Easily the best game I've ever played. Smashes Ocarina (the second best game I've ever played) out of the park for me, even when you put everything into context.

Just read something really cool in the guide.

Obviously all the Shrines/Koroks add to your completion rating, but one thing I didn't realise that does as well is discovering all the location names like Castle Town Prison and Shadow Hamlet Ruins. Sometimes there's nothing in these places but they're great in terms of world lore.

Which order did you guys do the Divine Beasts?

I've been wondering about this because I feel as though I did the easiest one last!

My order was:

Zora
Goron
Gerudo
Rito

The Rito beast was almost embarrassingly simple compared with the Gerudo beast, which was deviously difficult.

There is no doubt that my experience, upgrades, weapons etc will have had a huge impact on the difficulty level of each beast. In order of difficulty I would probably go:

Gerudo >>> Goron >> Zora >>>> Rito

Thoughts?

Edit - apologies if I'm covering old ground — I've been avoiding this thread up until now like the plague!

I have to say I was disappointed with the end fight with Ganon and everything. It just sort of happened, it was no way near as epic as Ocarina of Time or Skyward Sword.
I wasn't really impressed with any of the 'bosses' really, they weren't at all memorable.

I did it in the exact same order as you. I think that's the 'story' order, but yes I found the last one ridiculously easy. I was a bit miffed at the shortness because of the simplicity of it. I think it was because it was mostly on one level and was a simple tilt. Plus by that time I'd really got the hang of it.

I did it in that order to. I wouldn't call it a story order either. Maybe only Zora feels like the first because of it proximity to the start of the quest. Rito is the simplest but I wouldn't call any of them difficult. Bosses were pish.

I enjoyed it a lot, felt suitably epic.

Though having said that I was a little surprised there was no attempt to flesh out Ganon more or show Ganondorf or give him any motivation. I don't feel like the game needed it but when I compare the way motivation is explained and the character is given more room to actually be a character in the likes of OOT and TP, then I would have to say I definitely prefer that way of doing things than the way it was done in this.

The other bosses I absolutely loved, they looked so cool and the way they were tied back to the central enemy was good I thought. Having said that I'd always be up for more variation.

Regardingthe order OB, I think the last one you do is always going to be the easiest as you're probably quite overpowered by that point. I did Goron last and the whole thing took less than half an hour. If there is a 'correct' order, I believe it's Zora>Rito>Gerudo>Goron, I did that (except first 2 switched) and it felt like the best way. I didn't die once to any of the bosses in the game.

Not 100% sure where to go but there seems to be some big bastard in the side of the volcano so that seems as good a place as any to go :D

Rito -> Zora -> Goron -> Gerudo is a very sensible order in terms of ramping up the difficulty gradually and accessing useful abilities early, I think. The game seems to just slightly lead you towards doing Zora -> Goron -> Rito -> Gerudo, though, I thought, and I would argue this has the best story pacing in terms of what the Champions reveal about you/Zelda/both. I followed that 'story' order (and was very salty I didn't get the Rito power earlier...).

I think the last one you do is always going to be the easiest as you're probably quite overpowered by that point.

Given that the beasts are almost entirely puzzle based and all the enemies are very simple its only the level design that really sets the difficulty apart. Which means Rito super easy and the rest just a bit easy. The first boss you fight will probably be the most difficult (if nothing else because of your low defense stat and limited number of weapons). With maybe the exception being the Gerudo one and that one only becomes tricky because its the only fight that forces you to do something vaguely puzzle like.

Think it would probably take people as long to do the Deku Tree in OOT for the first time as the Rito Beast.

I love the way the music builds in the beasts. Shame you only get to hear them for about 30 secs each. :shifty:

1 beast left. They've been easy so far, had more trouble with those lynal banana splits. Once I've done the beasts what happens? As I don't have enough power yet to lift the master sword out the stone, do I just continue with the shrines?

Fyi Ive got no intention of going after Ganon yet, far too much stuff I havent seen yet. This game is amazing.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.
