Do we know a date for the release of the Sonic the Hedgehog set that was teased earlier this year? I've googled but can't find one

Unfortunately not yet.

It should release this year for Sonic's 30th anniversary.

It's an IDEAS set isn't it? Those normally take a little while between announcement and release but yeah you'd expect it to come before the end of the year

I think the Sonic set was from the review batch after the Seinfeld/Typewriter/Home Alone House batch and they haven't announced the Home Alone set yet. You have to assume that's coming out December.

Yeah, I can see the Home Alone set coming in December. No doubt they might find some way to tie it to that new one (or spiritual successor to, if I remember right) Disney are doing.

Forgot to post that I finished the Falcon the other day. Its an absolutely immense set, stunning to look at, massively rewarding build and just impressive to behold. Easily the best set Ive ever built, I thought the NES would be tough to top and while thats a more interesting build and more clever in a lot of ways, the finished product of the Falcon is just incredible. I have no idea what to do with it, its not going to fit on any shelves I have so Im thinking Ill get a wall mount for it but Ive also seen people build a coffee table around it and that could be cool too. Either way findhing a place to display it will be an even bigger challenge than actually building it.

How are you going to dust it?

Seal it in a hermetically sealed chamber so it never gathers dust.

Seriously. Even compressed air doesn't clean Lego lol

I've seen a few people talk about bagging the bricks up and washing them in the washing machine :slol: Probably not the best thing to do with anything that's got stickers on, though.

Also, I've spent the evening hanging the World Map on the wall. It wasn't as monotonous a build as I was expecting, but I don't think I'd have liked to have done the whole thing on my own!

I dropped an uncommon piece on the floor while trying to build the Ecto-1 and it's completely vanished. Can't find the piece anywhere. Had to buy a replacement of ebay for £2.

Probably not much help now, but If you've got proof of purchase (and tbf if it's a common part you don't even need a proof of purchase) Lego will typically do free replacements for "missing" bricks, assuming they've got stock of it.

Looks like Lego had it in stock. Thanks I'll bare it in mind for later, it was only £2.

After watching the new Ghostbusters trailer, I'm hankering for the big Ecto 1 Lego set. Of course I've just missed out on everywhere selling it around £120.

Holding off in the hope it returns to that price, or Costco get more stock (they have it at £122 on their site, but sold out).

My replacement piece arrives today, I go to put it in the model and find the original immediately. It apparently broke off inside the model when I was trying to put it in there at the weekend. I thought that might have happened so I turned it upside down at the time and shook it and there was no rattling around. Still now I've got a spare.

The UCS Falcon is £509.99 on Zavvi with the code Lego10. And Zavvi's on Quidco.
