I was going to get BD-1 but then they announced the Bowser set and out of the two I think I’d prefer that one. There have been a lot of good sets released so far this year.

£90 for the Galaxy Explorer is a piss take really.

I'm sure Lego have increased the price around 25% on their products from today.

I managed to get the Sanctum Sanctorum for £178, at Argos with discounted vouchers. Missed out on a Zavvi glitch which meant some grabbed it for £140 (if their orders don't get cancelled).

I like the look of those little lego postcard sets and they look decent value at sub £15.

Can't justify buying the new Lego Lighthouse, but I was inspired to create a rocky base for an old lighthouse set I had.

The new lighthouse does indeed look great, I couldn’t justify it when I’m planning on getting Bowser though. Also like the look of the Hedwig Icons set but similar reasons behind that.

Not sure if anyone else has had a chance to visit it yet, but the Lego Store at Leicester Square has now reopened with an extended first floor which makes it the largest Lego store in the world.

It includes a small museum area too featuring sets from the past.

I also filmed a comprehensive interior tour of the place for a future YouTube video, but that's still a work in progress (if anyone is interested though, i'll post it here when done).

That must be such a neat job building all those Lego models for display, thats the kind of job I’d probably enjoy

The video sounds great! Looking forward to it. :D

I had a real surprise this week - my Step Daughter decided to buy me a gift because I'd done a lot of tasks around her house - the Jazz Quartet set! :toot: :toot:

I've been wanting it since I saw it got approved as a Lego Ideas set. It looks awesome.

Would also be interested in this when it's done  I'd like to get back there but just cba with London/travelling in general at the moment.

In other news, the insane Hogwarts Express set comes out today:

Image

£430 (that's too much, man!). 5129 pieces. Wonder how many of those make up the tracks and the weird little cross-section of station  Building the tracks themselves out of individual bricks just seems like a really cheap way to push the piece count, and thus the price, up. Twenty minifigs, four of which are variations of Harry. Just bizarre.

It's extra annoying, since they've made the train too wide to fit onto the standard gauge Lego tracks, so it's purely a display piece, rather than being a fantastic looking train that can also actually be used in a layout. Absolutely no chance I'm paying 430 quid for it, so it'll be one to keep an eye out for a decent discount at some point.

Dismantled a couple of smaller sets the other day so hopefully I might have room to get cracking on the Starry Night set at some point, too!

I managed to get my girlfriend the Harry Potter Whumping Willow set, on eBay as it has been discontinued and the price on Amazon leapt up by £25.
That, the great hall and the clock tower all join together to make a set but that gooseberry fool is wide man. Like, WIDE. No idea how that’s fitting on her bookcase.

I just watched it - thanks, Vermilion, that was great! I'm not up on the Lego scene and it was fun seeing the store and some of the stuff that's available.

£519.99
6187 Pieces
Out 7 October 2022

Not really sure why they bothered with this one :? Very expensive, the smaller scale one is already lovely, and the ship is gone on the show
Wish they'd make a larger scale of the new one tbh (That is also quite expensive for what it is).
