I have a new found appreciation for the engineering that goes into Lego sets after last night. My son got at the Super Mario Block and took the whole front face off it and broke off a couple of other bits. Not a huge deal, spent a few minutes putting it back together, but then Bowser wouldnt fit in his little hiding space. Whenever I closed up the cube he would be knocked off his spot and break the front again. Eventually I figured out it was because the castle diorama was moving when it was flipped upside down, at first I thought it was because the rubber bands had come loose or something. The bands were fine when I checked them but I found a stray cannon in the Lethal Lava Land diorama and but it back where it belongs in Bob-Omb Battlefield. Thats when I noticed that closing it up causes this cannon to lock the castle diorama in place and when the whole lot flips over the castle cant move because the cannon is holding it firm. This then means the castle section wont hit Bowser and he wont break the front panel.

In short a tiny little cannon detail on one diorama literally stops the model from self destructing when folding it up. mad stuff.

A giant Bowser, in lego form. Looks pretty fecking epic and not at all the kind of thing I was expecting them to do next with the Nintendo license. Very much want.

That looks terrific! Feel the urge to get it, might need to cancel BD-1 and opt for Bowser instead :toot:

Edit, how do you cancel orders via the Lego site? It’s not like it’s at the point where it can’t be cancelled anymore as it’s still “In process”, do I just need to drop them an email?

I saw this yesterday, and decided to preorder, although no idea what I'll actually do with it

It does look awesome, doesn't it? :) . I'm not a Lego buff but this set does appeal to me as I enjoyed the TV series and characters.

It seems pretty expensive for what it is though

So now we're getting a Lego Atari 2600 :slol:

I'm not sure I get the brick-built consoles, but those little cartridge dioramas are so much more of a better companion display piece than the enormous TV they made with the NES

That Centipede one is lovely, I'd buy that on it's own.

I thought this. My partner absolutely loves the show. It doesn’t have a ‘display cabinet’ look to it though, does it? Can’t decide whether to get it for her.

I reckon Lego think that too, which is why they've made Michael Scott's office removable so you can display it by itself :slol: Wonder how many people would be more likely to buy a £30/40 build of Michael's office with just Michael/Jim/Pam/Dwight figs instead of the full thing.

I'll probably get it at some point, though. I hadn't even noticed that they haven't included the accounts desks or the kitchen/HR offices. Wonder if they'll do a second set like they did with the Friends one. Probably wouldn't be able to squeeze many more minifigs out of the show, though. Erin, Holly, Andy... Todd Packer?

Is that not Andy in the conference room then? Honestly that set looks worth it just for Kevin's spilled chilli.

Yeah, I really do like the set, but it would be cool to have a clear plastic cover to put over the top. It'd smarten it up and stop the dust!

I’m hoping to finish a Harry Potter ‘3 sets join together’ type of deal. She’s built the great hall, that connects to the clock tower which is still boxed, which connects to…the whumping willow/something else set which I haven’t bought yet. Gonna need a bigger shelf for sure though!

I think that's meant to be Toby? :slol: The list of included minifigs doesn't mention the 'nard dog, anyway

Anyone buying any of the new 1 August LEGO kits? Looks like there's a ton of great stuff released. Sanctum Sanctorum, Marvel Nano Gauntlet, Atari 2600, Chevrolet Camero, Galaxy Explorer, Star Wars Justifier, AT-TE and BD-1, amongst others.

I'm staying up to order the Sanctum Sanctorum at midnight. Probably unnecessary, but wanted to get it ordered and not worry about it selling out. I have VIP points to use, and get 10% cashback through my work's rewards scheme. There's a free Forest Hideout set for orders over £150 too, which looks really cool.

I think I'll buy the Nano Gauntlet as some point too. I still haven't got round to buying the Infinity Gauntlet, but having both on a shelf together would look cool.
