That's great! Keith the reindeer?

Not a lot to shout about in the Lego Black Friday sales, especially since the main offers have been going all week, but they've got 75% off the £5 insider vouchers today  200 points instead of 800, and you can get up to three at the reduced cost. May have redeemed all my insider points in advance of the Orient Express next week :shifty:

Yeah I redeemed points for £15 vouchers, waiting on the Viking set dropping price. Either that or I might grab the Nutcracker :shifty:

I finally gave in and ordered the Pac-man arcade set. With a combo of codes, discounted vouchers, insider points and cashback, I got it for around £125.

I'm very tempted to stick a pi and screen into it, and turn it into a working arcade machine!

I'd been looking at finding a Lego set as a little Christmas gift to myself and something to do during down time over the break. At the weekend I saw the Viking Village and thought it would go nicely with my Medieval Workshop. It was £125 so I was umming and ahhing about it.

Just checked today John Lewis have knocked the price down to £99, result! Don't know if they have offers across the Lego range but thought it worth flagging in case anyone is in the market.

Ooooof. That's a good price  I think there's a few other discounts at John Lewis at the moment. Saw on Hot UK Deals they'd reduced the Razor Crest, so now it's "only" four hundred and a bit pounds :dread:

Has anyone else got any of the Lego advent calendars? I picked up the Marvel one in the sale for work. It's always so disappointing  The weapon rack models have become a bit of a running joke with the Lego Star Wars sets, but yesterday's present in the Marvel calendar was literally a single solitary piece ( Doctor Strange's cape. For a Doctor Strange minifigure that hasn't come out of the calendar yet, which kinda ruins today's surprise too ) Stop splitting tiny sets across multiple days :x It's so lazy.

^ It has reached 10k support and so I believe that the idea will now be reviewed by Lego :-).

I finished my Viking Village set. It's actually far more substantial than I thought based off the images online. It's actually pretty big once all fit together. As with all of these 'adult' sets though, the build isn't actually that great. I mean it's very clever how it all goes together but to get the detail in the model which makes it look so good the vast majority of the build is with fiddily bits of Lego that hurt your fingers to push together. The instructions were actually the least clear I've ever had with a Lego set too, multiple times I got stuck as it didn't seem to show the right angles.

Nevertheless it's a fun set and will go nicely with the Medieval Blacksmith when I get round to rebuilding that. I think I'll get more on this theme as they look good and will go well together.

Do Lego ever have sales? Really like the look of the Orient Express but 269 is a lot of money.

Ooo let me know how you get on. Think it’s going to be my next purchase in January.

I’ve started building the Bowser set the last couple of nights, (I actually bought it a year ago to the day I moved into my new place, but then put it away into storage expecting to move by summer), it’s a fantastic kit and really enjoying it. About halfway through and hopefully will get the rest done tonight.

Saw the new X-Men blackbird jet in Smyths yesterday. Such a disappointing size given for an extra £15 you can buy the full Quinjet on a flying base with the flying Thor/Ironman.

Barad dur is coming in the summer.

I'm about 11 hours into the build. Loving it. The attention to detail is great.
