That's what I loved about the Technic Porsche 911 build. Just a massive load of pieces that I could sort by colour before starting.

Yep, it's a proper "Lego" to build without numbered bags. :datass:

I rebuilt the 2997-piece SHIELD helicarrier earlier this year. Almost wish I'd waited until lockdown happened. It took SO long :slol: Next big set I have to break down I'll probably disassemble in order so it's a little easier to put back together

Dismantling a set into the correct bags is a real challenge, particularly on the larger/more complex sets. I just broke down Ninjago City and Ninjago City Docks into numbered bags. Some parts are fine (a removable section being one bag's worth) but others are literally a step by step, remove pieces applied job. :dread:

I have serious Lego thumb now!

Breaking builds back down into their original bag separation? What is this!?

Half the fun is having all your bits end up in a big mixed up tub and searching through them to locate the ones you require for any particular build! The joy of finding that obscure piece after so many false identifications is something that just cannot be achieved through and other legal means!

I'm conflicted with this. On one hand I love that Lego have remembered they had their own original themes in the past that they're referencing in these big FOR ADULTS sets (the obelisk from the Lego Adventures temple has made me immensely nostalgic), but on the other I'd have paid a ludicrous amount of money if they'd actually done a licensed Tower of Terror set.

It seems a really expensive set for what you get so I think I'll pass.

The new Burrow set in the Harry Potter line looks really nice though and the Hedwig at £35 seems like good value for money and it looks really nice.

Yeah, the Hedwig looks great. I think my girlfriend's tempted because she missed out on the Bird's Ideas set back in the day. Still goes for loadsamoney on ebay :(

Has anyone else picked up the A-Wing, too? I've just finished the sloping front end. I have no idea how their designers figure out how to put these things together  It's so complex!

It's a gorgeous looking thing, though

I remember seeing that bird one in the store and thinking it looked good, disappointed I didn't get it now if it's gone.

I'm surprised they've not shown more of the lamborghini given it's supposed to be out at the beginning of June.

Saturn V! :toot:

No, unfortunately I am suffering a bad hayfever and I couldn't focus on anything at the moment. :( :x I will build it once when I feel a little better and can focus on it too.

The lander has shipped :toot:

How long can I hold off building this for :shifty:

Edit: it's here! Must. Wait. Until. Weekend.

Edit again.

I started the set yesterday and limited myself to the first 2 bags, and really took my time with them.

(The state of this table :dread: )
Image

This bag ended with making the hexagon shaped inner base part. It's really interesting to see how these angled parts are done (the ball joint stubby bits), as back when I used to buy sets there was nothing like this being done.
Image

Edit yet again:

Finished. It's a great set. The ascent stage pulls apart in 3 places to allow you to see inside. Pictures don't do it justice, the gold parts look really nice and it's a pretty big set. Please excuse the shitty towel covering my work monitors.

The Lego Lamborghini has arrived with much fanfare. And like a real one it's way out of my budget - £349.

Not liking the Green at all.

Shame, in a better colour it would've gone nicely alongside my Chiron and 911 GT3 RS
