Lego is obviously a luxury brand (and really, it always was); just look at the perfectly calm bearded banana split in the blown out lifestyle photos in a minimalist flat, probably a senior architect, advertising guru, account manager or some other job people presume to be very well off (apart from some account managers, that's not really true btw). If you can afford to spend £750 on that much grey Lego, to scale replicate a family/kids film, you probably have nothing to worry about.

Lego just keeps sucking me back in.

I have just ordered the Santa's visit set - this will 100% be the final piece of our Christmas village (more like a town now, tbf)... except I've also just ordered the Home Alone set. I am so skint at the moment and this is the least necessary thing ever but it's my favourite Christmas film and it's a great looking set.

(Sub plot: we can't actually do the Lego village this Xmas as the youngest kid will be 14 months and he's a strawberry floating wrecking ball :slol: )

I know I shouldn't but I'm *so* tempted by the AT-AT :slol: I've got £200 of vouchers saved up, and the free gift is another of the Lego brick-built lightsabers (they gave Yoda's lightsaber away with the Mos Eisley set, and the saber alone goes for ~£100 on ebay), so the "actual" price of it becomes a little more bearable when you factor all that in. And the Quidco cashback, six months down the line...

Help me decide, GRcade. You're my only hope.

Do it!

You can always flip it down the line and get most/all/more than your money back, especially if you get some discount.

Take pics as you build it, then we can all build it vicariously!

(edit - And the VIP points you'll earn, too!)

As long as you can afford it, go for it!

I badly want to buy the home alone set but I've got basically nowhere to put it. I think I might wait until next year lol

There are some good deals on Lego at Argos at the moment where a 20% discount code can be added to sets that are already discounted. Just got the Slave 1 that should be £45 for £24.

…what is it?
I’ve dipped my toe in Lego waters, the Harry Potter great hall as part of my partner’s Christmas presents. Amazon knocked a tenner off it as well, get in 8-)

It appears to be oversized Lego, but not, well, Duplo.

Good spot, Vermilion!

It appears that IKEA and Lego have collaborated to produce primarily Lego storage boxes... plus you can pick up a pack of Lego bricks at the same time. Click here to check it all out.

Is that what they were? I was in the Warrington IKEA the other day but I only saw the little dolls house furniture, not the storage boxes. My son was trying to score a cuddly dinosaur at the time so couldn't look properly. I liked their gamer-inspired furniture though - I treated myself to a mouse bungee 8-)

If anyone is into technic and has money, the huge £350 Lambo set is about half price on Amazon. Crazy price.

£178.89

Is there ever a more disappointing black Friday offer than those on the Lego site?

Theyre always gooseberry fool arent they? I remembered they hyped it up one year and it was like 20% off 3 sets or something.

Edit: I see its the same this year, 3 "proper" sets with small discounts and then a bunch of stuff theyre trying to offload out of the warehouse.
